College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
Infrastructure of college was very good. All hostels had Wifi with convenient clothes' washing and ironing facilities. Library and various labs served their purpose effectively. Most of the students used bicycles as personal conveyance. Rickshaws were easily available to go inside and outside the campus. Autorickshaws and buses were also available outside the gate.
Academics and Faculty
Academic classes began from 8 am to 5 pm approximately. Quality of teaching was satisfactory. Professors were easily accessible after classes.
Fees and Scholarships
Students who had scored above 90% in 10th and 12th got scholarship and could sustain it if they maintained 8 gpa throughout. College fee during my time was apprx. 1 lakh per academic year which probably has increased substantially by now.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility criteria for admissions in M.E in Thapar University, Patiala is on the basis of GATE scores.First priorities are always given to gate scorers. If you have good score in GATE then the chances of getting admission in the university is high. If some seats are vacant, the University will conduct an entrance test for getting admission for the vacant seats.

Academics & Faculty : Academics is good in Thapar university. All classes are engaged in time. Each student is required to keep his attendance record above 75% to prevent detention from that subject. Some Professors are really good and helpful and most professors can be easily accessed outside the classroom.Classes are engaged from 8-5 but actual schedule may vary from branch to branch. We have a CGPA system here (some college also follow % system). At the end of the semester students can also rate the quality and methodology of teaching by filling a SRS(Student Response Survey)
