Placements and Internships

4

  • MAIT is not very active in providing Internship and Training opportunities, but placement record is appreciable.
  • The TNP head interacts with students, frequently, starting from the 6th semester, and mostly through E-mail groups, and sometimes in an auditorium.
  • Mass hiring companies are Infosys and Accenture together hire about 50% of the eligible students, offering Rs. 3.25 lakh pa.
  • Both of these companies hire students from all branches (including MAE).
  • Most of the other companies that visit the campus are of IT industry and hence prefer CS/IT students, with few of them giving chance to ECE students as well.
  • The packaging range from Rs. 3 lakh pa to Rs. 6 lakh pa and sometimes higher.
  • Some companies like ZS Associates, Mu Sigma, E&Y etc visit the campus.
  • The package is usually higher but the number of students gets placed is reduced.
  • Core companies for mechanical and EEE branch come in very less number.
  • The core Electronics company are still awaited.
  • Thus overall placement record is good enough with companies visiting and hiring throughout the final year, with packages in all ranges.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : One need to qualify CET exam, held every year in the month of March-April. As far as rank is concerned, one need to score a good rank in CET, to get their favourite branch and shift. Well, I got 546 rank, in the (lateral entry) to b.tech programme. And I choose I.T branch.  This is the ideal rank for getting admission in MAIT.

Academics & Faculty : The college has 2 shifts. The first shift starts from 8.15am to 3.45pm  and second shift starts from 11.45am to 6.45pm and college usually remain open 5 days a week. you have to give projects in 6th 7th and 8 th semester and college usually takes 2 sessionals per semester and 1 assignment usually is given per subject per semester.   Quality of teaching is good if you are keen on studying hard you can get at least 80% easily. Method of teaching is same as other institutes. Personally I love that college because there is no checking of attendence. you can go to college if you want to or not if you dont want to.

Academics & Faculty : The teaching department at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (MAIT) is excellent and quite experienced. Most of them have thorough knowledge about their respective topics and have years of teaching experience. The faculty for Fluid Mechanics in the Engineering Department are very good but aged; hence some find a sort of generation gap. Some are extremely nagging and harass you to the core. Sometimes the lectures are conducted on an irregular basis as well. Overall, the staff is quite good and friendly and conduct lectures mostly in English.
