Placements and Internships

3

  • Though BVP TnP cell is not very active in providing students with Internships, there are many student-organized internship fairs which call a variety of known companies as well as startups.
  • The placement of IP colleges is above average, but BVP is still better than most.
  • The highest salary figures go from Rs. 12-15 lakhs pa but the students selected are few.
  • The average salary which most of the students get is Rs. 3 lakhs pa.
  • Most of the companies that come look for IT roles but some Consultancy and Electronics offers come as well.
  • I have done internships in various startups in web development and I'd say even though I got a decent stipend, the experience is worth much more.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

  • There is only Girl's hostel in BVP.
  • The infrastructure includes 4 canteens, a basketball court, a table tennis room, Football/ Cricket ground and a gym.
  • All the classrooms, labs, and hostels are equipped with working ACs. The labs have working equipment and up-to-date technology. The classrooms are well lit and fairly big.
  • There is a single library, not huge but has a decent collection of books.
  • The best thing about BVP is its Wifi which is provided not only in hostels but in college as well.
  • The overall infrastructure is very clean and the food is quite cheap as well.
  • There are PGs easily available outside of college and since BVP is just beside a metro station, it makes traveling easy as well.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • Since BVP is a part of GGSIPU university, the students need to give IPU CET (Common Entrance Exam) and choose BVP during joint counseling.
  • During 2014, the first cutoffs for CS Morning Shift were 1200 and for Evening shift was 3000 for General Students in the IPU-CET.

Academics and Faculty

4

  • The main aspect BVP is known for is its teaching. I'd even call it the best college in IPU in terms of teaching.
  • The lectures are comprehensive and even teaching aids are used to give presentations in order to understand the topic better.
  • Unlike most colleges, the classes are held regularly and even though there is a bit of strictness in terms of attendance, it isn't a big issue.
  • The teachers are quite helpful and easily accessible outside of classes, they even help in writing research papers.
  • The class timings are 8.30 to 4.30 for the morning shift and 10.30 to 6.30 for evening shifts.
  • The exams are fairly tough and checking is strict.
  • Overall experience in BVP is something which won't be forgotten ever.

Fees and Scholarships

3.5

  • The fees of BVP isn't very low like Govt colleges but it isn't outrageous too.
  • The fee for CS course is Rs. 1 lakh per annum.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

  • BVP has a large number of student societies which not only organize technical workshops but also organize plays and competitions as well.
  • Student can be a part of a number of societies and even the teachers cooperate with society events.
  • BVP has yearly technical fest and a bi-annual cultural fest.
  • Apart from this, many societies hold their own fest as well like CSI Regional Student Convention.
  • BVP has inter as well as inter-college sports events, with a team of students as well as teachers.
  • The life in BVP is full of experiences and since the college has almost everything, there is rarely any need to go outside for enjoyment.
  • Still, there are many markets nearby like Gola Market and Jwaka Hedi.
