Ankit Singh's Review on Asutosh College, Kolkata

• PLACEMENT - Since Ashutosh is a government college,  the placement is not that good. Some companies do come like TCS, WIPRO, IBM. But the companies do not take many students and the salary is around Rs.15k pm. The companies that generally come offer jobs for TECHNICAL HELP DESK or BPO/TPO. Maximum 20-30% gets placed others opt for higher studies. The subjects offered by the college are nontechnical so it does not attract many companies.
• INTERNSHIP - If a student wants to do some internship , he/she needs to find it for himself/herself. The college does not provide any internships, though the Professors might give some advice.

• The college provides hostel and PGs. But the student needs to apply well before hand to get hold of those as the seats gets filled up very fast.
• Other than this students can search for other options around the city as ample options are available.
• Food in college canteen is average. Pricing is nominal, but the food stalls outside the college are the main crowd pullers.
• Classrooms are spacious and have all the facilities from good desks to boards and lighting.
• Asutosh College has around four buildings all placed withing a 500m radius.

The admissions in this college takes place in the following manner :-

• Students need to apply online at http://www.asutoshcollege.in .
• The online form fill-up involves giving all the details about one's previous education.
• An admission test will be held by the college authorities for the desired course selected by the student.
• Merit list based on the ranks obtained in the Admission test will be published on the website.
• According to the ranks obtained the students are allowed to take admission.
• Regarding the admission process, the college will help the students after this.

• The classes at Asutosh starts from 10a.m. Now different courses may have classes at different timings but the college hours are generally from 10a.m. - 5p.m.
• The teachers are professionals and properly versed in the subjects they teach. The language of teaching is generally English but some teachers prefer using Bengali.
• Overall experience with the faculty was good. As every college has some good teachers and some equally bad ones ,so does this college.

• There are many party unions a student can join. Different parties have different unions. Then there is cultural and sports club a student can join.
• The main festivals are the different freshers and the fest. The main event is the Saraswati Puja as each party organizes it's own leaving the students at a benefit of enjoying many different pujas at the same place.
• The life in this college is good as everyone is quite friendly, with some mishaps from time to time which happens everywhere. All in all , it's one of the renowned colleges in Kolkata and it surely keeps up it marks.
