Placements and Internships
- Placements in SVNIT is increased due to the position and reputation of college .our department provides internships in summer at 5000 for two months.
- Many big companies come to over college for placements like TATA,Asainpanit, L&T , etc. And also government sector like BPCL ,ONGC etc. Very high salary also is provided like Rs.2500000/annum .
- Alumini network is also very strong .by the alumni association .many alumni are in surat so we can easily contact them .
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- Coming to Infrastructure and facilities this is the top NIT or say top among most of the colleges in India. All departments are provided with their own recently built multi-storeyed buildings with minimum 6 lecture halls ,2 seminar halls,Faculty cabins,Computer accessibility room, separate labs , lift facilities ,toilet etc. High-speed Wi-fi and projector facility and good lighting are provided in all the departments.
- Class a newly built 7 storeyed building especially for conducting the classes for the first year,Provides excellent luxurious facilities.
- HOSTELS, eleven well-maintained hostels (10 for boys and 1 for girls) are provided.Each year students are provided different hostels.The rooms are single suited except in the first year.
- Two guest house are also provided for the accommodation of relatives of students when they come to visit.
- Canteen A well ,properly maintained canteen is provided in the center of the college and all the hostels. where you could get good quality food for a cheap price.
- physical education, is also there they provide all the sports facilities and also there are well-equipped gym facilities.
- Apart from these, there is a Civil Research Centre (6 storeyed) for the civil students ,a well and proper managed academic section and staff club for entertainment purpose.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- To be a student of SVNIT first you have to score nicely in 12th and also in JEE mains and JEE Advance .If you score a very good score you can easily get any branch .but if you had not performed good the choices of selection gets reduces.
- The typical cutoffs depend upon the caste and state of the student. For general category the cutoff is high and for SC/ST its very less . Cutoff for my department is 25000 or less.
Academics and Faculty
- Classes are regular.
- It has excellent faculty in the Mechanical, Civil and Electrical departments.A healthy mix of senior and junior professors ensures that students are happy. The other departments lag far behind in this respect,while the professors are no doubt quite qualified, some of them may not be experienced enough.But one thing is common among all professors that they are all sympathetic to students needs and are very helpful. Some of the deans can be slightly harsh and uncooperative,but they ensure that students are never suppressed.
Fees and Scholarships
- My course fees are Rs. 13000 per year its 5-year course in SVNIT.
- There are many scholarship options for students.our college also provides the scholarship to Bright students .who can't pay their fees.about 700 students get scholarship including sc/st students.the sc/st students have no need to pay tuition fee.
- Loans are provided easily for our college courses by SBI. The student loans can easily get from SBI.
Clubs and Associations
- NIT Surat provides on-campus residential facilities to its students, research scholars, faculty members, and staff.
- The students live in hostels (referred to as Bhavan's) throughout their stay in the NIT. Wi-Fi facility is extended to all the hostels and the entire campus is connected via Gigabit LAN
