  • The college holds numerous seminars for career development of the students.
  • I have done two industrial internships with due permission from the college and a good stipend amount.
  • This college is accredited with Tech Mahindra, one of the top 5 IT companies in the country.
  • They hire final year students, by conducting on-campus drives at Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology, Kolkata.
  • The average salary is around Rs 3.25 lakhs per annum.
  • This college has a diverse and experienced Alumni network.
  • The alumni members are very helpful in case of bringing new companies to the college to conduct on campus drives.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

  • There are 6 hostels in all, separate for boys and girls.
  • The hostels have spacious rooms with a maximum accommodation of just 3 students per room.
  • The hostel fees are reasonable too at just Rs 3000 per month including food charges.
  • There are numerous PGs available in the vicinity of the college campus.
  • The PG charges range from Rs.1400 per month for only lodging to Rs.4000 per month which includes both food and lodging.
  • SVIST boasts of a good canteen inside the college premises, which caters to the students during the lunch hours at rates which are almost half the prevalent rates in the market.

  • There is the annual cultural fest that is held in the month of October, named Enthuzea.
  • Then there is the annual sports meet in February in which students and teachers participate alike.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Who has appeared in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) only they could get the admission. I took the Joint Entrance Exam, 60% cutoff rate approximately.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : To get admissions a student must possess a rank in Joint Entrance Examination. and must have a science background (Physics-Chem-Maths) in 10+2 grade. Generally, seats start to fill from rank 30,000 and continue upto 70,000. All the departments offer around 70 seats. But now offered seats in every department is increasing.
