Placements and Internships
- About campus recruitment stats the key companies approaching college are Cognizant, Wipro, Prescient Technology ( having a tie-up with Siemens) for E&TC stream. Many core companies are there for a mechanical and civil branch like Bajaj, ford for mech and B. G. Shirke for civil. For IT off-campus, opportunities are also provided like zansar, persistent, Infosys. For electrical the same IT companies are applicable. So basically for core trades like mech civil core companies are available. For other trades mainly IT companies are there. About packages offered by these companies, all above companies offer up to 3.5 lac per anum. The percent of students getting placed was highest for our batch.. 2016. Due to autonomy hopefully, this percent will increase for all upcoming batches.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- For accommodation, the college provides 3 hostel blocks for degree students, 1 each for diploma and post-graduation students. For girls separate recently renovated hostel is provided. Overall accommodation facility is good for all students. The hostel provides mess facility also. Food quality of mess provided by the college is fair. Not up to the mark. Yes, it is edible. But not satisfactory. Total expenses for hostel and mess provided by the college is around INR 20,000 to 25,000 per academic year. Rather than college accommodation and mess facility, other accommodation facilities are easily available in the college area. A private boys and girls hostel is there nearby college. Many flats ( 1/2 bhk) are available at reasonable rates. Many privates mess are available there having rates in the range 1600 per month. The rent for flats or rooms goes around 800-1000 per month. The college has canteen facility. The food quality is okay, not excellent. Progress is expected in canteen facility in upcoming years. The college provides free Wifi facility to college students only. Also in hostels, LAN connections are provided. The classrooms, labs are kept clean daily. They have almost all required facilities. And college infrastructure is great. A wide space efficiently utilized.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The main eligibility criteria were CET(Common Entrance Test) marks.
- The cutoffs were round 140 marks out of 200 for each stream for open candidates.
- Streams available for BE degree are Mechanical, electrical, civil, IT and E&TC. Talking about present situation cut-offs, now the college has been granted autonomy. So the cut-offs for the admission will be quite high as compared to our cut off marks. But due to autonomy campus recruitment will increase hopefully. So this is an important point to be considered.
Academics and Faculty
- The college timing is from 10.30 am to 5 pm. 10.30 am to 12.30 pm lectures. 10 minutes break from 12.30 pm. Then again lectures for 2 hours. Then a 20-minute break and again from 3 to 5 pm lectures. In any of the 2-hour slot, practicals are being taken by the staff as per schedule of that particular class. Talking about the staff teaching a method and their overall approach for E&TC stream. The staff is very cooperative and supportive. Even e-learning is promoted by the staff members. Full freedom is given to students to ask any query to the teacher anytime in class. Or even in free time. The college conducts 2 mid term tests. Depending on the scores of these tests the internal marks are given to the students. Overall supportive, good staff having good knowledge of subjects.
Fees and Scholarships
- The course fee for our batch (2012-2016) was INR 25,000 for open candidates. Other than this college provides facilities like EBC to students having less family income. At present, due to autonomy granted to the college, the fees are increased to around INR 60,000 per year for open candidates. For other students applying through EBC half fee is applicable. The college provides all scholarships to students offered by the government. Caste scholarships are provided. Also, central sector scholarships are provided by the college which is granted by the central government for scholar students getting high percentages in exams. Loans are not needed for most of the students. But if needed those can be easily obtained from banks.
Clubs and Associations
- The college supports various clubs and groups in the college. The college has a social club supporting social activities. Entrepreneurs club. Robocon club. The college supports celebrating days like a traditional day, chocolate day etc. College celebrates annual gathering in the month of February each year. Rather than this college organizes an event called Aavishkar which is a technical plus nontechnical event. The students of another college can participate in it. This event is fully organized by college students. Also, sports activities are supported in college. The college has sports competitions among the classes in the month of January. The winners are given prizes at the time of annual gathering. The Overall atmosphere of college is healthy. Mostly encouraging an educational environment.
