Placements and Internships
- The placements (both summers and finals) are quite good at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
- Our batch of over 450 has 100% summer placement. All kinds of firms ranging from Investment banking, Corporate banking, Financial markets, Marketing firms (conglomerates), top consulting firms and many e-commerce firms also visit the campus for placements.
- The alumni network is strong.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- The infrastructure is good and we have the best finance lab at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta campus.
- Whole campus is wi-fi enabled and library stays open till 6 AM in the morning.
- Private vehicles are not allowed on the campus.
- The campus is a bit away from the city (about 20 km from the main station and 35 km from the airport).
- Although commuting is readily available, but during certain peak times one can face issues in getting a taxi or a cab.
Academics and Faculty
- Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta is one of the best B-school in India. It has been ranked 13th by FT (Master in Management) in 2014 with a top ranking in Finance and Economics.
- The academic schedule is rigorous but once you are accustomed to it you will find it very manageable.
- Apart from classes, there are many assignments, group projects, group cases, quizzes, and exams which ensure that you are regular in your studies.
- First-year courses are compulsory but there is a whole range of course from different streams like finance, marketing, operations, strategy, public policy, human resources and much more.
- One can gauge their interest in the first year and accordingly choose courses in the second year.
- The faculty are on of the best in India and have done remarkable work in their own field.
- Also, the faculty-student interaction is a highlight here as you can always reach out to them for anything.
Fees and Scholarships
- There are plenty of financing options available to students in Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
- Loans at lower rates are easily available as many banks are willing to extend this facility to students.
- The college fee is a bit on the higher side.
- But need-based financial assistance is provided to students who are financially weak.
- Other scholarship schemes based on academic performance, co-curricular activities, etc. are also available. So you have to do well academically to secure such scholarships.
Clubs and Associations
- There are many clubs and SIG's present at Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. If you have an interest you can start your own club here. Dance, dramatics, community service, arts, adventure sports, yoga and much more. Any activity which you can think of is available here. All these ensures an all-round development of the student.
- Sport is an integral part of IIM Calcutta and all sports are played here.
- There are courts for volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton.
- There are inter-college sports meet like the ABCL meet, IIMC-XLRI meet.

Academics & Faculty : The course structure is usually similar across elite management institutes. However, IIMC has been consistently ranked as the top college for Economics and Finance across the world. So faculty and pedagogy are excellent.
