  • I did my vocational training from Calcutta State Transport Corporation and the one organized by my department on automobiles.Paid internships are scarce but the college with the help of its T&P Cell, E-Cell and it's another campus and academic partners, organizes a number of internship programs.
  • The traditional placement partners of the college are TCS, IBM, Cognizant, Oracle, Capgemini, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, M.N.Dastur, Bengal Beverages Pvt. Ltd, Foster wheeler, Saint-Gobain Glasses, Tata sons, Sankalp semiconductors, Kriti technologies, Ericsson, Mahindra & Mahindra etc. The average salary is around 3 lakhs with highest up to Rs.7.5 lakhs per annum ,On an average a total of 70% students get placed but departments like CSE, IT & ECE see UpTo 90% placements every year.
  • The college was established in 1995 but it has started recognising the role of it's alumni in it's development. So, the initiative of preparing a universal database of it's alumni has been taken and is in it's developing phase. Alumni interaction sessions and meets are being organized regularly. Some of the alumni meets are held in other cities, where alumni can easily reach.

  • Kalyani govt. egg. college is one of the best quality technical colleges of West Bengal, which being a govt. college lags in the exposure to students community. The college is situated on the campus of Kalyani university (whose egg. department was it before undertaken by state govt. to develop it as an important technical venue). Now the college has its own campus and a separate boundary wall is proposed. The college is affiliated to AICTE and is the best college of MAKAUT (EARLIER known as WBUT) according to the cut off ranks for admission through WBJEE. The IT department was earlier an NBA certified course. The college has undertaken a number of initiatives to improve its quality of education, certification, and placements. It is also funded by World Bank under TEQIP project. The classes start at 10:30 am and get over at 5 pm with a recess time of 30 minutes from 1 to 1:30 pm. The college follows semester system, total 8 semesters for B.Tech. degree. The centralized online attendance system has been proposed for better accessibility and awareness. The minimum attendance required is 75% for being eligible to sit for any exam. Two internal tests for each subject were taken earlier for internal marks but from session 2016-17 these internal tests have become centralized in order to keep pace with latest guidelines of standard certification parameters. The attendance criteria are followed strictly. 5 marks are awarded for every course for the attendance. Assignments carry 10 marks for each paper. Students are given at least 2 assignment question sets in every subject but in many subjects, additional questions, tests, and multiple choice tests are also undertaken under this section. All departments get a large sum of amount for undergoing projects from AICTE and students contribute to these projects with the approval of their professors. The college website, attendance website, library portals all of these have been developed & maintained by students. The college has a student union which facilitates all the college activities through its tertiary units like music club, photography club, quiz club, robotics club, dance club, literary club. The union also organizes annual technical cum cultural fest ESPEKTRO. The Training and Placement cell organize different seminars, workshops, certification courses and vocational training throughout the year. The projects are undertaken by final year students are of high quality and research papers are regularly published by the students under various summits organized by different departments. The entrepreneurship cell is very much active and holds regular workshops and competitions. The quality of teachers is at par with any other college in the state and some of the teachers are well known in the country in their respective fields. The professors give lectures on the subject matter but in addition to this practical example and the promotion of NPTEL is also done. All the teachers are available for doubt clearance and guidance. All departments have smart classrooms, where teachers use different software to teach the subject matter properly. The laboratories, computer labs and mechanical workshops have some of the most advanced equipment in whole west Bengal. The computer labs provide both windows as well as Linux OS for better industrial exposure. The mechanical workshop has most advanced lathe machines, milling m/c and all other standard machines. Besides this, to improve the communication skills of the students, the humanities courses and lab is very good. The college has a very competitive atmosphere and it is reflected in the various tournaments, competitions, and exams. The activities of different clubs showcase the talent of its students. Placements are decent as annually a number of companies visit the campus like TCS, Capgemini, Cognizant, M.N. Dastur, Saint-Gobain glasses, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Kriti technologies, Sankalp semiconductors, Ericsson, IBM, Bengal Beverages Pvt. Ltd., Foster wheeler, Oracle and much more.
  • The college has six hostels for residence, each connected to a high-speed LAN, separate playing grounds, badminton courts and computer rooms, libraries, dining halls. The college also grants scholarships like Tuition fee waiver scheme and minority students also avail center and state funded scholarships.Final year students also get AKASH tabs for their use for educational purposes. All the college buildings are provided with Wi-Fi. Kalyani govt. egg. the college has least fee structure among all MAKAUT colleges.

  • The tuition fee for Mechanical and Electrical departments is Rs. 500 per month and including other fees sum around rupees 8600 annually. For ECE & CSE departments, the tuition fee is Rs.1000 per month and for IT department, it is Rs.2000 per month. Other expenses are same as a mechanical department. Hostel fee including flooding and lodging is around Rs.2000 per month.A refundable security money of rs. 9500 is to be given at the time of admission. All the central and state funded scholarships are given to the students.Besides this, minority students can get minority scholarships. For economically backward students, Tuition Fee Waiver and Half Fee Waiver schemes are given.
  • The number of students availing these scholarships in a batch of 400 students is around 80-100 depending upon individual cases. With this low fee structure. Generally, no one needs any loan but being a government college student, any bank can give the loan to its students easily. The institute helps it's economically weak students unconditionally.
