Samikhya Rath's Review on VSSUT - Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology

I am a student of Civil engineering and have been placed in Aditya Birla under my campus placements. During my third year I have been a paid summer intern at Tata Steel under the Women of Mettle program. There are students who have interned with CPWD, Hirakud dam project, OHPC, PWD etc. Under my course the top companies which visited are Aditya Birla, L&T, Reliance Jio Mobility, including software companies Cognizant, TCS etc, providing a average package of 6lpa with highest 7lpa & lowest 4 lpa.

I opted for the admission once my Jee mains score was out. I followed the usual procedure of JoSSA, to undergo the counselling process which landed me a seat in this esteemed University. The procedure which is undertaken every year by JoSSA is really simple. The students have to do their registration and choice filling in the JoSSA's official site and finally the seats are allocated depending on their rank. The final procedure is carried out in their nearest centres.

The faculties are really great here, always ready to enlighten the students. Most of them are alumni from the top IITs and NITs with vast knowledge and experience in their respective courses.

The fee structure is simple and minimal. As it is a government University the tuition fee is less as compared to any private colleges. For the EWS students there is Tuition fee waver scheme available which can be easily opted by providing the income certificate as a proof at the time of admission, considering the student has a good Jee mains score. There are scholarships available such a Medhabruti, provided by the Odisha Government which benefits nearly 70% of the strength.

There are numerous clubs starting from the SAE for racing cars to pixel for the photographers. Annually we have our Cultural and tech fest called Vassaunt and Samavesh respectively. An annual sports event called Illumina is also organised every year which a 3 days long event. My overall college experience was pleasant.
