What is the UPTET Exam?

UPTET is a Teacher Eligibility Test, conducted by Uttar Pradesh Government for the appointment of Primary and Post-Primary teachers in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The application form for this test is expected to release on 18th September 2019. 

Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) is the conducting body for UPTET 2019 exam.It is split into two tests. Paper 1 is for primary teachers whereas paper 2 is for upper primary teachers. Candidates who pass the test will be given UPTET eligibility certificate that will be held valid for 5 years.

UPTET 2019 Exam Dates

The UPTET 2019 application form is available from June 13, 2019 to August 22, 2019. The Admit card will be available on 5th October 2019 and candidates can download it on the official website and The UPTET exam 2019 is expected to be on 15th October 2019. Uttar Pradesh Basic Educational Board (UPBEB) is yet to release the official notification of UPTET Exam Dates. Candidate should check the UPTET News on the official website to get the update. UPTET Eligibility

Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) sets the eligibility criteria for the UPTET exam. Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria can apply for the exam and who will not able to satisfy, the UPBEB will reject their application.

  • Nationality:
    • Eligible Indian aspirants can apply.
    • Candidates belonging to Bhutan/Tebit/Nepal are also eligible to apply for the Uttar Pradesh TET 2019 exam.
  • Age limit: Candidates belonging to the following age group can apply.

  • Educational Qualification: UPTET eligibility is different for primary and post-primary aspirants. Aspiring candidates should meet the following eligibility criteria given below.

UPTET 2019 Primary teacher eligibility:

  • They should have secured 50% marks in 12th standard and 4 years diploma in B.EL.ED.
  • Applicant should be a graduate with 2 years of B.T.C training or,
  • Candidate should graduate/post graduate degree from NCTE/RCI recognized University with 2 years D.ED Diploma or,
  • Candidate should be graduate with 2 Years BTC training in Hindi or Urdu.

UPTET 2019 Post-Primary teachers eligibility:

  • Applicant should be a graduate or post-graduate from the recognized institute NCTE with 50% of marks.
  • Applicant should be a graduate with 2 years in BTC training.
  • Applicant should secure 50% marks from the recognized university or institute and also should have 2 years of B.Ed diploma or 
  • Applicant should have 50% marks in 12th and 4 years of diploma in B.EL.ED. or B.S.C.D.

UPTET Application Form

The UPTET Application Form will be available on the official website of UPBEB. The aspirants can fill the form from 26th August 2019  to 13th September 2019.

  • Criteria: Candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria can apply for the exams.
  • Registration: Candidates need to register themselves on the official website before applying for the exam.
  • Mode: The candidates should visit the official website for filling the online application form.
  • Details: All details regarding name, address, education etc. should be entered in the application form.
  • Application Fee: The application form fee for General and OBC candidates is INR 400 and for SC/ST category it is INR 200. 
  • Attach Documents: Candidates are required to attach a recent passport size photograph and a scanned signature.
  • This is an online process so candidates no need to send the hard copy of documents to the conducting board.

How to fill UPTET 2019 Application Form?

  • Step 1: Registration:
    • Log on to the UPTET official website i.e. upbasiceduboard.gov.in
    • Click on the ‘Apply for UPTET 2019’ link to begin the online registration process.
    • UPTET application form will appear on the computer screen. Individuals will have to enter personal details (name, gender, date of birth, religion, category, etc.), qualification details and communication details (address, valid mobile number, and email ID).
    • They can then verify the information mentioned in the application form and can alter it in a case of any mismatch or discrepancy.
    • They will be allotted a registration number upon submission of the application form.
  • Step 2: Upload Images:
    • Applicants must upload scanned image of their recent, passport-sized photograph.
    • Candidates must choose the type of photo identity proof that they will carry to the UPTET 2019 Exam Centre.
    • The format and resolution of the scanned copy of photograph will be as given on the form.
    • Aspirants can click on ‘Preview’ to view the photograph uploaded and can confirm it once they are satisfied with the quality of images.
  • Step 3: Payment of fees:
    • Applicants must pay the non-refundable application fees to complete the UPTET application process. The fees can be paid by both online and offline modes.
    • Individuals can pay the fees using SBI Debit/Credit card or Internet Banking.
    • They must enter their registration number, category, and date of birth. Fill up the required payment details on the bank page, save the receipt of the transaction and print it out.
    • Aspirants can also pay the fees by downloading the SBI e-Challan and depositing the fees at any of the bank’s branch. They must submit this e-challan on the next day of generating it.
    • After completing all the above steps, a confirmation page will be generated in the UPTET website. Individuals must take a print out of this page for future correspondence.

Note: Candidates can apply for both the primary and post-primary positions by filling two separate application forms.

UPTET Admit Card

The UPTET 2019 Admit Card is expected to be released on 5th October 2019. The candidates can download by providing their respective roll number, birth date and security pin they receive of UPTET 2019. The admit card will also be considered as UPTET 2019 Hall Ticket. The UPBEB will not send admit cards by post. Candidates have to download the UPTET Hall Ticket from the official website only.

  • Details on Admit Card: The admit card will contain the following details
    • Candidates Name
    • UPTET 2019 Roll Number
    • Date of the exam
    • Exam Centre name and details
    • Timings of the exam
    • Photo
    • Signature
    • Important instructions
  • Mandatory: It is mandatory to carry the admit card to the exam centre without which the entry will be denied.
  • ID Proof: Candidates should carry ID Proofs like Aadaar card, voter card etc along with the admit card to the exam centre for verification with a photo.

Procedure to download UPTET 2019 Admit Card

  • Step 1: Visit the official website www.upbasiceduboard.gov.in
  • Step 2: Click on UPTET Admit Card 2019
  • Step 3: Enter Registration Number and Date of birth as login details.
  • Step 4: Download and save your Admit Card. Obtain admit card in hard copy for future reference.

Note: Verify all the details mentioned on the admit card. For any discrepancies in the admit card, should be notified to the concerned authority.

UPTET Exam Centres

The UPTET 2019 Exam will be conducted 65 exam centres in Utter Pradesh. Candidates have to choose exam centres as their preference. But, The final exam centre will be allocated by the UPBEB. The list of the UPTET 2019 Exam Centre is given below:

UPTET Exam Pattern

UPTET 2019 Exam is conducted in the offline mode. In the exam Objective type, multiple choice questions will be asked. A total of 2 hours and 30 minutes will be given to answer 150 questions.

  • Total Marks: 150
  • Total Number of papers: There will be two separate papers for Primary and Post-Primary positions.
  • Question Paper Language: Question paper will be in both English and Hindi language.
  • Marking Scheme: One mark will be awarded for every correct answer and there is no negative marking.

UPTET Syllabus

The UPTET Syllabus consists of 2 papers. Candidates have to know all the subjects and topics covered in the subjects. The details in the different papers are listed below.

  • Paper I: The Paper I focuses on topics that are relevant for teaching Standards 1st to 5th. Candidates can refer to NCERT Books of 1st to 5th standards for the better understanding of the scope of UPTE. Paper I covers Teaching Methodology & Pedagogy, Languages (Hindi & English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Subjects Under Paper I is:

    • Hindi/Urdu/Sanskrit
    • Mathematics
    • Environmental Studies
  • Paper II: Paper II focuses on topics like Child Development, Learning & Pedagogy, Languages (Hindi & English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics & Science or Social Studies & Social Science. NCERT Books of 6th to 8th standards can be referred to the better understanding of the scope of UPTE 2019. Candidates have the option to choose between the sections of Mathematics & Science or Social Studies & Social Sciences. Subjects under Paper II are

UPTET Results

UPTET 2019 Results will be announced on December 5, 2019. Candidates can download their results from the official website. Candidates appeared for the UPTET 2019 can check their UPTET Result by providing their respective roll number and Date of Birth.

Steps to check Results:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website.
  • Step 2: Click on the results link.
  • Step 3: Enter your Registration Number and Password.
  • Step 4: Candidates will be redirected to UPTET 2019 scorecard.
  • Step 5: UPTET exam Result will display Subject wise marks and overall scores.
  • Step 6: Download the scorecard and take a printout for future reference.

UPTET Cutoff

UPBEB will declare the UPTET 2019 Cutoff Marks after the declaration of result. The cutoff marks are different for a different category. Expected cutoff for UPTET 2019 Exam is given below.

UPTET Recruitment

The UPTET News regarding UPTET 2019 is not announced yet. The official notification of 2019 will be out on 22nd August 2019. All the required information for UPTET 2019 Recruitment will be updated later.

  • Payscale: The pay scale for a Primary school teacher is INR 2,37,768/- p.a and for a Secondary school teacher, pay scale is INR 3,01,462/- p.a.
