What is the IPPB Exam?

About Indian Post Payments Bank: The IPPB is a wholly-owned undertaking of the Department of Posts for which the recruitment takes place at an All-India level. Post Office recruitment comes under the aegis of the Government of India. IPPB invites the candidates who satisfy the IPPB 2021 eligibility criteria to apply for the IPPB Exam 2021 to get an opportunity to work for the government sector.

The full form of IPPB is Indian Post Payments Bank. IPPB Exam is conducted by the Indian Post Payments Bank Ltd, New Delhi. Indian Post has received in-principle approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Cabinet for establishing the Indian Post Payments Bank (IPPB).

Selection Process: The IPPB exam is conducted once every year. There is a separate recruitment process followed by the bank to select the candidates. The process usually consists of an online exam followed by a personal interview. But the bank has all rights reserved to conduct Group discussion (GD), Assessment. The conducting body has all rights reserved to shortlist a certain number of candidates to attend the online assessment/ group discussion/ interview based on the number of vacancies. Preliminary screening will be done based on the profile, educational qualification, and experience in consideration of the job requirements.

Posts and Vacancies: The IPPB conducts the recruitments for the Scale II, III, IV and V posts. Every year there are a lot of posts that are vacated and for them, the recruitment is done. The board has released a total of 3600 vacancies for the candidates who are applying for the IPPB 2021 examination. IPPB 2021 Exam Dates

All the dates are decided by the IPPB. The IPPB Dates vary for different posts. For some posts, there is no written test. For some posts, there are 2 tiers of the exam. Hence, the dates will be varying. Currently, the notification which is active is for the recruitment of Group III and IV vacancies.

IPPB 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Every candidate interested to work in the India Post Payments Bank must ensure that he/she is satisfying the eligibility requirements in terms of the academic qualification, age limit and nationality. In case if the candidate is not meeting the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the conducting authority, then their application and candidature are liable to be rejected.

Academic Qualification

The basic IPPB eligibility criteria 2021 for the IPPB Exam 2021 is that the candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree from in any trade from a recognized University/ Institution.

Age Limit

The age limit for the IPPB Exam 2021 lies in between 20 years to 50 years. The age limit can vary depending on the post. Age relaxation is also provided to certain candidates as per the Government norms. The age limit for the candidates with respect to the posts are mentioned below:

Nationality

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India or a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently in India are also eligible for the IPPB 2021 exam.

Candidates must ensure that they are satisfying all the eligibility criteria before filling out the application form. For online registration, candidates can visit the official website and follow the registration process.

How to apply for IPPB exam?

Candidates can apply for the IPPB 2021 exam by following the below-mentioned steps:

  • Step 1: Candidates need to go to the official website i.e. www.ippbonline.com and click on "Click Here to apply for Recruitment for Scale IV and III" notification.
  • Step 2: Upon landing on that page, you have to enter your basic information in the online application form. After that, the system will generate a provisional registration number and password which will be displayed on the screen. It is advised that you should note it down. These credentials will be also sent to you on your registered email ID and password.
  • Step 3: You will have to fill the application form fields accordingly and then upload the documents which are necessary.
  • Step 4: Before the final submission of your application form, you will be having a "Save and Next" option to save the details entered in the form. Once the final submission is done, you won't be able to make any changes in your application form. Hence, it is advised you to read and fill the application form properly and carefully.
  • Step 5: You will have to pay the application fee which is non-refundable and non-transferable. After that, your application form will be completed and you are advised to download and print your application form for future use.

IPPB 2021 Application Form

Candidates aspiring for the IPPB exam must complete the IPPB 2021 application form before the last date. The application fee for IPPB exam can be paid through Debit Card, Credit Card, IMPS, Internet Banking, Cash Cards, Mobile Wallets and Internet Banking.

Documents required for the IPPB 2021 exam

Every candidate has to upload a scanned image of his/her passport-sized photograph and signature while filling the IPPB 2021 application form. Candidates will not be able to complete the application form without uploading the photograph and signature. The specifications of the document are mentioned below.

Photograph

  • The photograph of the candidate should be a passport-sized recent photograph.
  • Background of the photograph should be light or preferably white.
  • Avoid images with caps, hats or glasses.
  • Dimensions of the photograph should be 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm or 200 x 300 pixels.
  • Size of the image should be in between 20 kb to 50 kb.

Signature

  • Signature should be done on a white paper with a black ink pen.
  • Dimensions of the image should be 140 x 60 pixels.
  • Signature in the capital letters are not allowed and will not be accepted.
  • Size of the image should be in between 10-20 kb and not exceeding 20 kb.

IPPB 2021 Admit Card

The IPPB admit card 2021 can be downloaded from the official website of India Post Payment Bank i.e. ippbonline.com. IPPB 2021 admit card will be issued to the candidates 10-15 days before the exam date. Dates for the release of IPPB 2021 admit card has not been released yet. Once the official notification gets released, those will be updated here.

Note: Admit Card is a really important document from an applicant's point of view. Without it, the exam authority will not allow the candidates to enter the exam hall.

How to download the IPPB 2021 Admit Card?

To download the IPPB 2021 admit card, candidates can follow the steps given below:

  • Visit the official website of India Post Payments Bank.
  • Enter the login credentials- registration ID and password. Enter the captcha displayed on the screen.
  • Click on the Submit button.
  • The screen will display the admit card in pdf format.
  • Download the admit card and take the printout of the same.

IPPB 2021 Exam Pattern

Candidates aspiring for the IPPB exam must have a clear idea about the exam pattern and its syllabus to crack the exam. Since there are 2 tests conducted - Prelims and Mains, the pattern is different for both the papers. The IPPB 2021 exam pattern comprises of the following three processes:

  • Interview

  • In the IPPB Prelims exam, there are 3 sections which need to completed in 1 hour. There are 100 questions to be attempted.

Exam Pattern for Mains

  • In the IPPB Mains exam, there are 5 sections with a total of 200 questions. The time duration is 2 hours and 20 minutes.

  • For every correct response, +1 mark will be awarded to the candidate.
  • There will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect response.
  • No marks will be deducted if the question is left unanswered.

Candidates who cleared the IPPB 2021 Mains examination will be summoned for the interview round. The total marks for the interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks for the General category candidates is 40%, whereas, for SC/ST/PWD category candidates, it is 35%. The final report will be decided based on the performance of the candidate in the IPPB 2021 Mains & Interview rounds. 

IPPB 2021 Syllabus

IPPB 2021 Syllabus comprises of various sections which include the English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge & General Awareness. The IPPB 2021 Syllabus is almost the same for the prelims & mains examination. IPPB 2021 Prelims Syllabus include English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude, whereas, Mains Syllabus include English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge & General Awareness. English Language- Reading Comprehension, Cloze test, Fill in the blanks, Error Spotting, Sentence Correction, and Para Jumbles.

Reasoning Ability- Seating Arrangement, Syllogism, Input-Output, Coding-Decoding, Alphanumeric Series, Ranking/Direction/ Alphabet Test, Data Sufficiency, Coded Inequalities, Puzzle., and Logical Reasoning.

Quantitative Aptitude- Simplification, Number Series, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage & Averages, Profit & Loss, Mixtures & Allegations, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, Work & Time ,Time & Distance, Sequence & Series, Permutation, Combination & Probability, and Data Interpretation.

General Knowledge- Fundamentals of Computer, History of Computer, Internet, MS Office – Word, Powerpoint, Excel & Access, Memory, Input-Output devices, and Computer Shortcuts.

IPPB 2021 Selection Procedure

Usually, the selection process of IPPB 2021 is done on the basis of an interview. However, if felt necessary, the Bank can take an Assessment Test/Group Discussion/Online Test to recruit the candidates. After every round, the candidates will be shortlisted and the final list of selected candidates will be released after the whole selection process is concluded.

A screening test and interview are taken for the posts which are of Cadre III and IV. For lower cadres, a written test is taken for which the recruitment is done in bulk.

For cadres below III, IPPB 2021 Exam will be conducted in two phases which are: Preliminary and Mains Exam. Exam Pattern of IPPB is also discussed below.

Preliminary Exam

IPPB 2021 Preliminary Exam is expected to be conducted in the month of October 2021. Prelims exam will be of 1 hour with a total of 100 questions.

Mains Exam

IPPB 2021 Mains Exam is expected to take place in the month of January 2021. Mains exam will be of 200 marks and the time duration allotted for it will be 140 minutes.

IPPB 2021 Exam Centres

For the recruitment of posts lower than Group III, the IPPB 2021 exam has to be conducted. For those posts, IPPB Exam 2021 will be conducted over 36 States and Union Territories of India. Candidates can choose multiple test centres according to their preference while filling the IPPB Application Form 2021. IPPB 2021 Results

For the post of Chief Manager and Senior Manager (Strategy) for IPPB 2021 Results have been released on May 19, 2021. Results for other posts lower than Group III will be declared twice for Prelims and for Mains Exam separately. Mains exam will be conducted in January 2021. So, the results for Mains will be released soon after the exams are over.
