Eligibility Criteria for Reserved Candidates

The examination conducting authority has designed various eligibility criterias for candidates belonging to different categories. APPSC Polytechnic Lecturers 2022 eligibility criteria for reserved candidates is listed below.

Age Limit: In terms of age limit, candidates of the following categories are permissible for age relaxation.

  • SC/ST and Backward Castes: 5 years
  • Ex-Service Men and NCC: 3 years
  • A.P. State Government Employees: Upto 5 years
  • Retrenched employees in the Andhra Pradesh State Census Department: 3 years

Educational Qualification: Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe will get a relaxation of 5% marks for the post of lecturers in Engineering and Non-Engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh. That is, if a reserved candidate gets 55% marks in his degree in an appropriate branch or study, he/she will be eligible for the appointment to the post of lecturer.

There is also a reservation for women and sports meritorious persons in the APPSC Polytechnic Lecturer examination.

Disabled candidates are not applicable for reservation in the APPSC Polytechnic Lecturer exam as per the Departmental Special Rules.
