What is APPSC Exam?

The Andhra Pradesh, Public Service Commission, was established on November 1, 1956, along with the formation of the state of Andhra Pradesh. When the APPSC was established, the commission consisted of one chairman and three members. Slowly, as the strength of the organization increased, the government decided to increase the number of members under the APPSC. Currently, the APPSC has one chairman and nine members.
To be a part of the organization, one has to write the APPSC exam that is conducted by the APPSC once every year. There are three groups of recruitment under the APPSC:

  • APPSC Group-1
  • APPSC Group-2
  • APPSC Group-3
  • APPSC Group-4

The candidates who apply for the APPSC 2020 exam are recruited to the respective posts based on their scores and performance in the recruitment examination.

APPSC 2020 Notification

The APPSC releases the notification for the recruitment of individuals through APPSC Exam once every year for each of the three groups under the organization. The APPSC 2020 Notification announces the number of vacancies, the criteria for eligibility, and everything that is required for the candidates’ knowledge before registering for the APPSC 2020 Recruitment Examination.

APPSC Document Upload

While filling the APPSC application form, applicants have to upload certain documents. These documents must follow the guidelines prescribed by the APPSC authority. Scanned images of photograph that is recently take against white background and a signature done in blue or black ink are required. The photograph should be passport size. These documents are needed to be in specific size, format and dimensions. The table below gives the APPSC Document Upload specifications.

APPSC 2020 Application Process

The APPSC 2020 Application Process involves registration, application form filling, uploading documents and finally paying the application fees. The application fees of the APPSC exam can be completed online. Candidates should enter accurate information in the APPSC 2020 Application Process. Candidates who are appearing for the exam first time need to register first and then proceed with the application. How to apply for the APPSC 2020 Recruitment?

To register for the APPSC Recruitment, follow the steps below:

  • Visit the official website of the APPSC. Click on the “Modify OTPR ID” Tab.
  • Click on the “New Registration” link mentioned for direct recruitment.
  • A new window will appear. Go through the page and fill all the details that are required.
  • Include all the details correctly.
  • Upload the photograph and signature according to the dimensions mentioned on the page.
  • Make sure to mark all the checkboxes provided next to the necessary declaration of the correctness of the information.
  • The OTPS ID will be sent on the mobile number and email address that was used during the registration process upon successful registration of the candidate.
  • Once, you receive the OTPS ID; you can log in to the portal through the official website.
  • Click on the “Direct Recruitment” link.
  • Select the APPSC Group for which you want to apply.
  • Submit the fee for the application.
  • Once you pay the fees, your application is completed.

Note: Make sure to upload your photograph and signature in the correct dimensions and sizes for each application form that you submit so that the APPSC can accept your application.

APPSC 2020 Hall Tickets

The admit card for the APPSC 2020 Exam will be released on the date as specified in the notification. Candidates who have successfully applied for the APPSC 2020 Exam will be receiving a personal update from the APPSC if there are any changes in the schedule. APPSC 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Before registering for any examination, it is essential to make sure that you are eligible to register for it. The conducting body for each examination will set a few criteria of eligibility for candidates to follow. The APPSC 2020 Eligibility Criteria are different for the different groups under the organization. The standard eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • The candidate must be of sound mental and physical health and must be free of any activities or habits that might render him/her unfit for public service.
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • There are various physical criteria that the candidate must satisfy as per the requirements of each post under the multiple groups of the APPSC 2020.
  • Previous character and antecedents must be such that they render him/her qualified for the position.

APPSC 2020 Group 1 Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for each post under APPSC Group 1 Exam is different based on the requirements demanded by the job. The minimum educational qualification is that a candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a university recognized by the UGC.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification for APPSC Group 1requires candidates to obtain a graduate degree from a recognised university but the below-mentioned posts require special educational qualifications :

The common aspect that is followed in all three groups is that there is a preliminary and mains examination conducted for all three groups. The result for all the groups of the APPSC 2020 Exam will be announced online on the official website only. Candidates will not be getting a physical version of the scorecard. The APPSC 2020 Result will be announced in the form of a PDF on the official website. The candidates will need to search for their registration number and check their results.

  • The respective results PDF will open once you click on the link.
  • Search for your registration number in that PDF and check the score mentioned next to it.

The answer key is released by the APPSC after the conclusion of each of the APPSC 2020 Exams. This APPSC 2020 Answer Key will be announced on the APPSC website only. Candidates can check their answers with these answer keys and submit their objections if any.

How to check the APPSC 2020 Answer Key?

  • Visit the official website.
  • Click on the “Keys and Objections” tab.
  • Select the APPSC group that you had applied for.
  • You can either check the answer key immediately or you can download the same for future reference.

Note: The answer keys are different for each of the groups under the APPSC and the stages too (prelims and mains). The answer key will be different for each paper under the two stages, so be sure to check the paper and the stage of the answer key mentioned.

How to raise objections in the APPSC Answer Key?

The APPSC gives the format to raise objections. The organization will consider the objections submitted and make the necessary changes if it feels that the objections are correct. While submitting the objection, candidates are also required to provide their name, registration number, and the question number. The candidate is also required to give a reason for their objection.

To be a part of the APPSC, one needs to prepare for the APPSC Recruitment examination. Individuals need to refer to the eligibility criteria to decide which APPSC Group she/he is suitable to apply for. Prepare for that particular recruitment group and clear the examinations to be a part of the APPSC. The various groups under the APPSC are:

  • APPSC Group-1
  • APPSC Group-2
  • APPSC Group-3

Candidates need to register themselves with the APPSC Portal to log in. To register, follow the registration process as provided in the page. Follow all the steps correctly, and the login facility will be activated for that particular candidate. Once activated, just enter the registration number and the respective password to log in to the portal.

The marks awarded for a correct reponse vary for the difficulty and type of the question asked in the APPSC Exam Paper. However, the APPSC does follow a negative marking scheme where 1/3rd of the total marks for a particular problem will be deducted in case the candidate's response is incorrect.
