College is situated in Vellore of  Tamil Nadu. It was founded in 1898 as Arcot Mission College when Arcot Mission High School was amalgamated to the University of Madras. The college began offering master's level courses in 1975. The College is managed by the Church of South India, Diocese of Vellore. The Chairman of the College is the Bishop of Vellore, and the motto is "In vain without God."

The college emphasizes the importance of Christian virtues and values. It believes in imparting holistic education inculcating Christian values to all students without discrimination especially the less privileged in moulding them to emerge as self-reliant, enlightened, empowered and change-agents of the society.

The college is affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore and it is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, with an A grade (2005).

Voorhees College Admission 2024

The institution is managed by the CSI Diocese of Vellore. It was initially an Intermediate College and within a span, it grew into a Graduate, Postgraduate and Research Institution. Courses offered are B.A.  in History, Economics, Tamil, Defence and Strategic Studies, B.Sc in Computer Science, Chemistry, Botany and Physics, B.B.A., B.C.A and various undergraduate and postgraduate courses respectively.

Voorhees College, founded in 1898, is one of the several institutions started by the American Arcot Mission of the Reformed Church in America. The Rt. Rev. W.I.Chamberlain of the Arcot Mission was the first Principal. With a munificent gift of INR 75,000 by Mr Ralph Voorhees, the main building for the College was constructed and it was named in memory of the donor’s wife, Ms. Elizabeth R. Voorhees.

The objective of the College is to provide the pupils who have passed the school final examination, sound education and character training based on Christian principles.

The online application for the academic year 2020 is from June 2021 to July 2021.

•  All the admissions will be made only after inspection of the certificates and a personal interview.
• The candidates will be called in for an interview should present themselves with parents on the date and time mentioned for the interview.
• At the time of the interview, the following certificates in original should be submitted.

1. Transfer Certificate
2. Conduct Certificate
3. Marksheets
4. Community Certificate

• Those selected for the admission are advised to take a sufficient number of scanned copies of all their original certificates before submitting them to the College office.

Mandatory Documents

Before filling the application, the applicants are required to scan and keep Community, Disability, Ex-servicemen, NSS, Sports and Baptism (for Christian applicants only) certificates, Marksheets and Photo.

• The application form needs to be downloaded from the website.
• The documents aforementioned need to be ready before filling out the application form.

For the submission of online application: 

• After filling up the details, the applicant will receive Application/Registration Number on the screen on the registered mobile number and email id.
• Using the details, click on the link to upload your marks.

• Application form should be filled online and there is no requirement of submitting it in the offline mode.
• Applicants will thereby receive a link to download their submitted application through SMS on the student registered mobile number.
• Click on the link for filling the application for the UG course and PG course.

Voorhees College, Vellore Undergraduate (UG) Admission Process

Online submission of application forms along with marks will be received up to June (for Shift-I) for admission process and incomplete applications in the absence of necessary documents will be rejected. Only, One application is valid for applying to one major subject only, in the Degree Course. Therefore, candidates are advised to use separate application forms for different major subjects for which they wish for. And for the admission into the degree course, the applicants should be between 15-21 years of age. 

Application fees (Shift-1) and (Shift-2)

For shift 1, It costs Rs 50 and free cost for SC/ST. And Shift-2, it cost around Rs 200.

Under the UG Programmes, various courses are offered i.e., B. Sc., B.Com, B.A., BBA, BCA and most of the admissions are done based on 10+2 percentile.  Students must have passed 10+2 from any recognized board.
