About The University of North Bengal, Darjeeling 

The University of North Bengal, Darjeeling was established 1962 and is one of the most renowned University in the region of North Bengal. The University provides courses in the fields of Science, Commerce, Humanities and Law. The University has a campus of 330 acres with all the modern amenities. The University is accredited by the UGC and is awarded by a B++ by NAAC. The University provides undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral courses.

Eligibility Criteria at The University of North Bengal, Darjeeling

  • All candidates must secure 50% in their Higher Secondary Examination in order to apply at the University
  • For postgraduate courses, the candidate must secure a minimum of 50% in their Higher Secondary Examination as well as the undergraduate course they have pursued prior to the course they wish to pursue.

Admission Procedure at The University of North Bengal, Darjeeling

 

 

  • Applications in the general category will be arranged in order of merit, including the students of the SC/ST category
  • CS and ST candidates not placed in the merit list (a) will be arranged in order of merit and be selected for admission according to the SC/ST quota of 22% and 6% respectively.
  • If the number of SC/ST candidates fall short through the quota, the vacancies may be filled up by the candidates of general category after observing necessary procedures.
  • Should any problem arise, The Faculty Council is responsible for resolving it. Discrepancies regarding the selection policy must be referred to the Vice-chancellor.

Stipend is INR 5000 per month. Research work is done in each lab of our department.

Fees and Scholarship

The course fee is about INR 10000 rupees per year. Average of 10 students get a scholarship of INR 5000 per month from DBT ( Department of Biotechnology). No loans are needed.
