Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility criteria of THDC Institute of Hydro Power Engineering and Technology, Garhwal was simple and it was through AJEE mains exam score and overall ranking. The priority of branch allowed is based on one's JEE mains ranking of the student in  Mechanical engineering at the top followed by Civil Engineering , Electrical engineering , Electronics and Communication and Computer Science engineering respectively. A student can get this college easily if their all India Rank in JEE mains is below 1,00,000 or maybe above if some seats left.

Placements & Internships : The student has to arrange their internship programs themselves with some minor help of faculty in proving guidance for choosing the company.   For placement companies based on three branches usually visit this college which are ECE, ME, and CSE with an average package of about ₹2,00,000 per annum. THDC IHET being a new college does not have a strong Aluminium network for sure.

Fees & Scholarships : For all 8 semesters i.e. 4 years college fees are Rs 2,40,000 hostel fees excluded. Registration fees of ₹2,500 are to be paid which is refundable at the end of the course. Scholarship programs are available just  for SC, ST and OBC student.  Student can pay their fees using loans from the bank . 

Academics & Faculty : Classes begin at around 9:30 based on the lecture timing, timing can be delayed on notice by the respected faculty. Assignments are given to the students on a regular basis for which marks are allotted to the students. Project work is for last year students (mandatory). A student can build their project before the 4th year too, but no marks are allowed to them for such .

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are 3 hostels available 2 for girls and 1 for the boys. It is mandatory for girls to take hostels with fees of hostel being ₹25,000 which is same for both genders. Food is average which is expected. Quality and furniture of classrooms are good and well maintained with the feature of wi-fi which rarely works . Library is satisfactory.

Clubs & Associations : Absolutely ZERO college society as college lacks funding for such. Main festival is named ESCALADE that is the cultural fest.
