Entrance Exams & Admissions : There are no entrance exams for admission in SMIT, Chennai. One can get admission by counselling via Anna University or Management Quota. This is for all the courses. Our college also has ME courses in ECE, EEE, CSE and management fields.

Placements & Internships : The placements this year are great. Our new principal and new placement officer are bringing many companies for placements. Many core companies have come to our campus and I have already got placed in one such good core company.

Academics & Faculty : For ECE, I must say that this is a heaven! All the faculties and HOD are student-friendly only. They risk and do long works for the benefits of students, they'll write/prepare notes like students and give it to us. Whether we are their current/past student or not, they'll help us anytime with any technical matters like paper presentation, co-curricular activities, placements, guidance etc.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : We have good infrastructure in the college campus. Also, the lab equipment/kits/software are up to date. Libraries have a lot of books and IEEE-digital explore access, which makes online reading easier and papers can be downloaded free from there.  

Clubs & Associations : Our college (SMIT) is a member of IEEE. We ECE students are members of the IEEE-COSMOS society. 4 other societies are available in our college for other department students.
