Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, is situated in a quiet village about 14 kilometers in the north-east direction from Kozhikode. The college has an extensive campus of about 67 acres. The foundation stone of the college building was laid in February 1968. The formal inauguration and the commencement of classes took place in June 1968.  It became a venue for Post Graduate Studies with the commencement of the Master of Commerce degree course in 1995 and the Master of Arts Degree course in 1999. 

In March 2007, the college was accredited by the NAAC at the level of B+ grade and re-accredited by the NAAC at the level of B++ grade in October 2016. It is managed by the executive committee of the S.N. Trusts. The college was affiliated with the University of Calicut. The college works with the motto of enlightenment through education. The college offers many facilities such as a library, gymnasium, hostels, etc. The teachers are highly qualified. Admission forms are available online.

Sree Narayana Guru College Courses

The Sree Narayana Guru College offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of  Science, Commerce, Arts, and Social Science. The courses offered are B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, M.Com, etc. A choice-based credit semester system and grading have been introduced for the UG programs. The duration of an undergraduate program shall be 6 semesters distributed in a period of 3 academic years. There shall be 1 open course in core subjects in the 5th semester. Sree Narayana Guru College Placements

SNGC is a part of the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP)  is a skill development project embarked on by the Kerala State to equip the young population with employable skills. The project mainly focuses on those students which are socially and economically backward. SNGC organizes the Walk With a Scholar program for the students of the college to prepare them for employment and help them to select their areas for higher studies. The college has a dedicated career guidance and placement cell. Various students are placed in on/off campus drives. SNGC alumni are placed in top companies and are doing good in their professional careers.

Students can apply online for admissions in SNGC. Admissions to the college are based on eligibility and merit. Eligible candidates can apply for admission. The admissions process is defined by the University of Calicut. Here is the step by step procedure for taking admission in SNGC:

• Students have to register themselves on the website.
• After registration, an ID is generated which students have to keep with them during the whole admission process.
• Students need to fill the application form with the academic details and personal details.
• Then there is an option of choosing courses as per their requirement. Care should be taken while selecting the course because admission is given on a priority basis.
• Students are then required to submit the application fees.
• Students have the option to edit the application form before clicking on the final submit button.
• Admission results are declared in 3 lists.
• Students, whose names have appeared in any of the lists are eligible to take admission.
• They have to submit the fees for securing a seat in the course.
