Everyone who uses traditional and social media has come across the enticing advertisements of Sharda University, with aerial views of the impressive infrastructure, modern facilities, and the diversity of the crowd. International students from over 95 countries are said to be studying at the university.

Students fresh out of school tend to be attracted to the university because of these factors, which promise them a global level of education and learning experience. As it is for most private universities, the previous years’ students of Sharda University have mixed feelings about it with regard to their academics and peers on the campus.

Sharda University has space for all types of students, ranging from the academically proficient ones to those who are just planning to get a degree for the sake of it. The faculties include relatively younger teachers, making them more approachable and friendly. The faculty and management are helpful to those students who ask for it. Else, they are not bothered to ask around if anybody needs assistance.

Established in 2009, Sharda University offers a large number of undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and diploma programs in different fields. Students can also pursue integrated and certificate courses here. Multiple schools under the university offer various courses in each area.

Cultural Diversity

As mentioned earlier, students from around the world are part of the campus community, which helps students to be exposed to various languages and cultures. The university is said to have kept its word when it comes to having the world there, on the campus. With the student exchange programs and other collaborations with international universities, students have the opportunity to explore their career advancements on a broader canvas.

Free Campus

Apart from the normal rules and regulations, students are not restricted from enjoying their college life. There are no specific dress codes to be followed for any gender, and the faculties are mostly open-minded about their students. 

Even though students from outside the country are part of the university, they consist of only one-third of the crowd. The rest of them are mostly from the rural regions around Noida, who are still getting introduced to the modern world. 

Nevertheless, due to the large number of students, it is easy to find similar-minded people if searched carefully. Getting into the right circles is an important part of this campus as it can easily impact making or breaking the future.

The university offers short-term courses for Indian students, irrespective of their educational level, and working professionals who intend to learn about new fields and enhance their overall qualifications. Students who intend to pursue Indian subjects but do not have the liberty to join full-time programs in the country are encouraged to attend short-term programs as well.

Semester Exchange

Several international universities collaborate with Sharda University in the student exchange program for one year. Students from the university and international students can exchange their semesters for different courses based on their merit and other factors.

Vibrant Infrastructure

With a vast area of 63 acres, Sharda University's infrastructure is one of the best parts. All types of facilities, including hostels, are available on the campus, with world-class amenities. The laboratories are well equipped with advanced technology, which helps in the improved practical experience for students from Science backgrounds. It is said to be one of the best universities in and around Noida with regard to infrastructure. The campus is divided into 14 different schools for each department. 

The classrooms are mostly designed in such a way that all students have access to the professor, making classes more interactive and interesting. Every classroom is well-equipped with LCD projectors for audio-visual classes, and the seating arrangement accommodates over 200 students at once.

Sharda University has a massive library, named Swami Vivekananda Library, which is very advanced in terms of technology with Wi-Fi and other facilities like a self-issue and return system, which helps students to be more self-reliant with the process. Apart from the main library, there are 8 other council-affiliated libraries for different schools in other parts of the campus. Collectively, the libraries have over 1.5 lakh books and other educational resources.

Students can also access e-resources and e-content through the Digital Library section available in the two computer labs attached to Swami Vivekananda Library, which has high-speed internet connectivity for online research as well.

According to the previous years’ students of the university, the laboratories are supposedly one of the most advanced and well-equipped ones compared to the other private universities. Students have access to updated, state-of-the-art facilities, which enable them to gain experience in the practical aspects of newer technologies. This also encourages students to be more interested in practical learning.

Laboratories are available for different disciplines, such as Medical, Dental Sciences, Engineering, Media, and Mass Communication, among several others.

Residential Requirements

Students from outside the city have accommodation facilities provided on the campus itself. Over 10 hostels are available on the university campus for boys and girls. The hostel vacancies are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. Hence, students are recommended to get hostel admission right after their college admission process is completed. 

The safety and security of students in these hostels are taken care of by a warden and a faculty-in-charge, who ensure students have all the necessary facilities in order. 

However, students have unanimously said that the food served in the hostels is not up to the mark, for the amount of fees they pay for their food and accommodation on the campus.

Miscellaneous Facilities

Similar to the other private universities, Sharda University also has impressive facilities for sports, art, and cultural activities. The annual cultural festival Chorus has gained a lot of attention from the other colleges in terms of the kind of programs conducted and the chief guests invited. Many other cultural and technical events are organized by the university every year.

Overall, students have an amazing college experience at the university, with an interesting infrastructure and an even more happening campus culture.

Varied Faculties

The university has highly qualified faculty members for each department who are experienced in their field and in the education system. As the student crowd is a mixture of interested and non-interested, it is the student's responsibility to utilize the educated faculties to improve their academic performance. 

Almost all the professors of the university hold doctorate degrees, are keen to help their students, and are always available to clear doubts. Most of the faculty members are younger in age, making them more approachable and friendly. Students are impressed by the faculties here at Sharda University.

Placement Drives

Over the years, more students get placed in good companies with high offers of annual packages. Students who have high-performance credits in their academics and showcase their skills and talents in the interview round have higher chances of getting placed in good companies. 

But lately, on various online platforms, certain students have pointed out that the placement rate has decreased to less than 50% for Engineering and 30% for BCA programs. Only 1% of students among 400 students are getting offers through the placement drives. The placement department failed to invite bigger companies who offer large packages, and only smaller companies are invited who have no bright prospects to show.

Overall Impression of Sharda University

Sharda University is a good option for students who have no particular aims or ambitions and for those who did not manage to get into the other top national institutes. This university cannot be the first option as it has its own pros and cons. In terms of getting exposure to international cultures, this is one of the best universities. 

With gigantic infrastructure and updated facilities, students have a good campus life here, but the peership is said to be questionable. In short, the university has space for all kinds of students. But it is advised that the meritorious students think twice before joining here as it is on the expensive side of the academic spectrum.
