Students who wish to pursue Distance Education Department Bachelor of Arts (B.A) must fulfill the minimum eligibilty criteria as mentioned below. .

Additional Details for Punjabi University - Distance Education:
- The candidate should have passed in passed 10+2 examination of the Punjab School Education Board or any other Board Examination
recognized as equivalent thereto
- Reservation in seats will be provided to the candidates under the categories of Scheduled Tribes/ Scheduled Castes (25%), Backward Classes/ OBC (5%), Bordered Area (2%), Backward Area (2%), Sportspersons (2%), Wards of Political Sufferers/ Freedom Fighters (2%), Disabled Persons (3%), Children/ Widows of Defence Personnel (2%), Children/ Widows of Para-Military Forces Personnel (2%), Riots Effected (2%) and Widow/ Divorced women (2%)
Scholarships at Punjabi University - Distance Education:
Fee Concessions:
- The concession of half tuition fee will be given after admission for the candidate who will deposit full fee at the time of admission, Who are two real brothers/ sisters studying in the department
- Students suffering from Cancer/ Aids and Thalassemia should deposit only examination fee + practical fee and library security
- Children/ dependents of the members of Armed forces including para-military personnel who have either been killed or permanently disabled in the Indo-Pak Conflict of 1965, Indo-Pak Conflict of 1971 and Indo-Chinese Hostilities of 1962 and Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) in SriLanka are given fee concession
- Candidates whose monthly income does not exceed Rs. 1500/- per month will deposit full fee excluding tuition fee
- Wife/ Son(s)/ daughter(s) of Punjabi University employees (regular) provided they are not in service
a) Candidate will be granted full tuition fee concession, those drawing pay up to INR 21600 per month (Grade Pay + Basic Pay+ Secretriate Allowance)
b) Candidate will be granted 50% tuition fee concession, those drawing pay up to INR 21601 to INR 24750 (Grade Pay + Basic Pay+ Secretriate Allowance)
c) Candidate will be granted 25% tuition fee concession, those drawing pay up to INR 24751 and above per month (Grade Pay + Basic Pay + Secretriate Allowance) (this concession shall be limited to two children)
- Regular employees of Punjabi University are exempted from the payment of Tuition Fee, Library Security-INR 735, Medical Fee-INR 45, Library Membership Fee-INR 30 and Postal Charges-INR 365 on request, to avail this concession departmental permission is compulsory
- Child of a person killed as a result of action by security forces in aid of civil war, Child of a 100% physically disabled riot-affected person, Child of a Sikh migrant will get concession in fee
- Child of army deserted/killed/100% physically disabled, Child of a person killed in 1984 riots or terrorist violence in Punjab State should deposit only examination fee + practical fee and library security
- Physically Handicapped 40% and above are exempted from only examination fee
