Punjabi University was established on 30th April 1962 under the act of Punjab Act no 35 of 1961. It is the second university in the world to be named after the language. It established the department of Distance Education in 1968. It is the second institute of the country for adapting the non-formal mode of impairing education. It is the first department to introduce a regional language as a medium of instruction and examination. At current, the department manages 41 multi-faculty programs and student enrolment is increased from Twelve thousand to fifteen thousand. It offers UG and PG programs in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management.

Criteria for PG courses in Punjabi University - Distance Education admission 2024 is to have a bachelor’s degree in any respective fields. DCCPBI Admission Fees

The total tuition fees of  BA are INR 3,900. For B.Com the Punjabi University - Distance Education fee structure is INR 4000. The Total tuition fees for MA are INR 5400. The Total Tuition fees for MA in Journalism and Mass Communication are INR 8500.

DCCPBI UG Admission 2024

It offers UG courses in Arts, Commerce, Education, Computer Application, Management, etc. The duration of the course is 3 years. The admission is based on merit

DCCPBI UG Eligibility

The eligibility is to be passed the 12th from the Punjab school education board or any other examination board. For Commerce, the eligibility is to have a 40 % marks in total in commerce for education one needs to be a graduate or postgraduate in any field with 50 % marks in any filed

B.Ed Did graduation or a post-graduation in any field with 50 % marks in total and had teaching experience in a Government school or Government recognized board
Bachelor of Library and Information Science Bachelor's Degree with 35 % marks in total from a recognized University

DCCPBI PG Admission 2024

The department offers pg courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, Management, etc. Its specializations are Punjabi, English, Hindi, History, Journalism and Mass Communications, Education, Information Technology, etc. The duration is 2 years.

DCCPBI PG Eligibility 

For pursuing a PG course in the institute one needs to have a bachelor's degree. For M.Com the eligibility is to have a bachelor’ s degree in commerce or BBA or BMIT. For the Master of Library and Information Science, the eligibility is to have a bachelor's degree in Libray and Information Science with 50% marks in total.

M.Com Passed in B.Com or BBA or BMIT from a recognized university
Master of Library and Information Science Bachelor of Library and Information Science with 50 % marks in total from Punjabi University or any other University
MBA Had a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree from any University or had a work experience of 1 year or passed the examination of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India

The eligibility for Diploma courses and Certificate Course is to be a graduate or a bachelor’s degree in any field. For Punjabi Parveshika and Gurmat Sangeet Praveshika, one should be capable of reading and writing Punjabi, Hindi, and English. For Post Graduate Diploma in Criminology and Police Administration, the eligibility is to be a graduate in any field with 40 % marks in total.
