NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad was established in 1998 under the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University Act of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature. It is formerly known as National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University. It is a residential university and an institution of national eminence in the field of legal education and research. The university provides an opportunity to explore limitless options in the legal profession and is setting new standards in law education.
The main objective of the university is to promote cultural, legal and ethical values with a view to foster the rule of law and the objectives enshrined in the constitution of India. NALSAR, Hyderabad also offers a range of distance education courses in emerging fields of contemporary relevance.
These courses are conducted broadly under two dedicated wings of the University- NALSAR Pro, which is the distance education branch of NALSAR, and the Centre for Air & Space Law (CASL), which studies and contributes towards the legal development in the emerging sectors of aviation and space.
In this context, NALSAR Pro offers PG Diploma courses in Patents Law, Cyber Laws, Media Laws and International Humanitarian Laws using web technology and direct contact programmes at various centres in India.
Similarly, CASL has introduced innovative courses in Aviation, Space, Telecommunications, GIS and Remote Sensing.
It offers the following four courses: Master’s Degree in Aviation Law and Air Transport Management (MALATM); Master’s Degree in Space and Telecommunication Laws (MSTL); PG Diploma in Aviation Law and Air Transport Management (PGDALATM); PG Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing Laws (PGDGRL).
