The course provides for internships (very limited) in the second year, during the summer break. There is a placement cell devoted to specifically training students and managing campus placements. Though there is no 100% placement rate, high-end companies like Goldman Sachs, Ernst &Young (Global and India) etc as well as known NGO's like Teach For India do come and a reasonable number of students are hired, through a strenuous process. It definitely depends on the individuals competency and determination. I personally think the opportunities are available if you want to make use of.
I have done an internship in the digital marketing field. Our college had a good marketing scheme. our college's alumni group meets every year.
The placements are good for the students of Commerce and Management whereas not so good for the students of Arts and Science. It might be because most of the students of arts and science opt for higher studies. The placement training sessions begin in the month of July and date are allowed for various topics such as Resume writing, communication, aptitude test, time management, personal interview etc. These sessions are also covered by industrial experts.
Placements in JNC are good. Every year we have different companies coming from Finance, Marketing and HR roles. Companies like Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Accenture provides pre-placement offers. The interns, based on their performance were given final offer letters as well. I interned at Goldman Sachs for two months and received a fair stipend as well. Some companies that come for placement are Delloit, Capgemini, Honeywell as well. Students have a number of companies to choose from.
