Jawaharlal Aviation Institute, Palakkad was established in the year 2010. The college is a part of the Nehru Group of Institutions. Jawaharlal Aviation Institute is approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation [DGCA]. The college is situated on 25 acres campus set in a serene environment. The college has a specially designed hangar within the campus and is equipped with serviceable Learjet 25B and Cessna 150 aircraft.

The college aims to inculcate engineering skills and knowledge through innovative quality training practices and methods to bring out the hidden talents of youth to be useful and purposeful for economic development in the field of aviation. The college has signed MoU with Air India, approved by the DGCA.
