Institute of Hotel Management was established in 1972 as Food Craft Institute Ahmedabad and later it was changed to Institute of Hotel Management Ahmedabad in 1984 by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. IHMA offers guidance and training in all crafts and skills in all branches of expertise, both the theoretical, practical, management, and study orientation needed for the efficient functioning of hospitality establishments and the industry as a whole.

The Institute of Hotel Management’s vision is to achieve high levels of hospitality management skills and expertise and to lead in the field of hospitality science. And their mission is to uphold international teaching pedagogy standards, to establish leaders in all areas of hospitality and related industries, and to meet the demands of the industry as a whole. IHMA admission is merit-based.

Institute of Hotel Management Courses

Institute of Hotel Management, Ahmedabad provides education in the field of hotel management. The college offers B.Sc and Short Job Oriented Hospitality Course. Bachelor of Science also referred to as the B.Sc  in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is a three-year course divided into six semesters is a full-time regular course that equips students with all the necessary skills, information, and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory roles in the Hospitality sector. The course also requires in-depth laboratory work to provide students with the requisite knowledge and skill levels in the operational fields of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office Operation, and House Keeping. Career Opportunities for B.sc graduates are Management Trainee in Hotel and allied hospitality industry, Indian Navy Hospitality services, Resort Management, etc.
