About The Institute

The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Jyotisar, Distt. Kurukshetra is an Autonomous Institute jointly sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Department of Tourism, Government of Haryana. It is a society registered under Society of Registration Act with District Registrar of Firms & Societies, Kurukshetra. Its first academic session will commence from July 2008. It is located on Kurukshetra – Pehowa Road, adjacent to famous Kalpana Chawla Plantarium, and is 2 kms from Kurukshetra University.

Kurukshetra town is situated 160 km North to Delhi on the National Highway No 1 and is connected to rail & road net works. Kurukshetra is also famous for 'seat of learning' having Kurukshetra University and Regional Engineering College. The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition is another addition to this famous educational city.

Kurukshetra is a place of great historical and religious importance, revered all over the country for its sacred association. It was here that Lord Krishna preached his philosophy of 'KARMA' to Arjuna, as enshrined in Holy Bhagwat Gita. In the very first verse of Bhagwat Gita, Kurukshetra is described as DHARAMSHETRA i.e. 'Region of Righteousness'.

Synonymously, Kurukshetra is a right place for Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, for dissemination knowledge, attitude and professional skill to its students, opting admissions in Degree / Diploma Programs. The facilities and amenities have been created adhering to accredited norms of National Council for Hotel Management in respect to building planning, staffing, equipment requirements, infrastructure facilities; for creating a model Hotel Management Institute in the country.

The Institute is fully equipped with appropriate laboratories and classrooms for students to acquire the required skill standards in the Degree & Diploma Programs. Institute is also equipped with well-appointed & well-equipped labs, classrooms, guest rooms, library etc for dissimilation knowledge, attitude & skill to the students. Faculties are qualified who specialize in dissemination of knowledge in their respective fields of expertise.

The Institute is affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology, A-34, Sector 62, NOIDA - 201 301 (www.nchmct.org). NCHM&CT is the apex formation in the country for educational & professional training in Hospitality Management and Operation.


INFRASTRUCTURE

The Institute has state of art infrastructure to provide quality training in the filed of Hotel Management and equipped with following:-

Basic Training Kitchen (BTK)

The BTK is used for providing training to the students of 1st year in basic Continental and Indian cuisines. The kitchen is equipped with latest equipments.

Quantity Food Kitchen (QFK)

QFK use for 2nd year students in order to prepare them to face the challenge of cooking for large groups and catering the vide variety of people representing differ


Placement Cell at Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition -

The placement cell of the institute has already become very active and the students of 1st year have found industrial training placement in prestigious hotels. The placement cell is dedicated to advising students on career options and providing them with the latest information on industry internship and final placement opportunities. Apart from the facilitation services, it also arranges for training and industry interaction sessions. A


Financial Assistance To Meritorious Students Of Financially Weaker Section Of Society

The Board of Governors of Institute has taken a decision to give financial assistance to the meritorious students of financially weaker section of society. Under this scheme a student can apply for financial assistance from 2nd semester onwards (after midterm examination in case of Diploma students) on the basis of their result of 1st semester / midterm marks and attendance.
