Devi Ahilya University, Indore has been a leading University of central India. The University within the framework of its UTD opened self-financing engineering Institute namedInstitute of Engineering & Technology (IET).It started its academic journey with glorious dreams on04 September 1996. It has been popularly known as IET-DAVV.IET was started with a total intake of 90 students in three branches of Bachelor of Engineering (BE) - Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering having 30 students each. The first batch of these 90 students started their engineering career while studying in the classrooms of the sister UTD- School of Computer Science (SCS) and had got initial financial support from the other UTD- International Institute of Professional Studies (IIPS).

Institute of Engineering and Technology 2024

It is an approved Institution by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Government of Madhya Pradesh and University Grants Commission (UGC). IET is academically autonomous with a flexible and modern curriculum in all branches of engineering. It is a fully self-financing Institute offering BE programmes in six branches. Recently, AICTE has approved 180 additional seats making a total intake of 540 students per year. IET became PG Institute in 2002 and presently it is conducting ME Programmes with six specializations. In 2006, the MSc program in Applied Mathematics was also started. PhD programme is also offered in all disciplines of BE/ ME Programmes & all relevant areas of interest. Research component of IET is also strong while a number of research scholars from other reputed organizations such as SGSITS, AICTE, RRCAT, NRCS, IIITA, etc. have registered for Ph.D programmes in various departments of IET. All these UG/ PG/ Doctoral programmes come under the Faculty of Engineering of DAVV.

Institute of Engineering and Technology Admission UG Eligibility

Admission to the proposed course requires minimum marks in 10+2 or equivalent. Admission to various Integrated courses requires minimum marks in the qualifying examination. Details regarding admission criteria and eligibility are as follows

B.E. (Full-Time)	Admission is offered to a candidate who has qualified in 10+2 examination and appeared in IIT-JEE examination. Admission process is strictly in accordance with the rules and regulation of Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Bhopal. Reservation rules are mentioned thereof. Admission shall normally be done in the months of July/August every year.

Institute of Engineering and Technology Admission PG Eligibility

Admission to the proposed course requires minimum marks in graduation or equivalent. Admission to the PG courses requires minimum marks in the qualifying examination of the college as well. Details regarding admission criteria, eligibility, etc, are as follows:

M.E	A candidate seeking admission to the program should have passed with 60% (or equivalent) in BE/BTech (or equivalent) in an allied branch of engineering from a recognized/ University. Regular candidates should have a valid GATE Score in the relevant/ allied branch of Engg/ Tech. The sponsored candidates should have two years of work experience after BE/BTech degree.

PhD programme is also offered in all disciplines of BE/ME Programmes & all relevant areas of interest. Research component of IET is also strong while a number of research scholars from other reputed organizations such as SGSITS, AICTE, RRCAT, NRCS, IIITA, etc. have registered for Ph.D programmes in various departments of IET.

General Guidelines:

There is relaxation of 5% in the eligibility for SC/ ST/ Sponsored candidates.
Candidates appearing in final year exam or non-GATE students may also apply. Such candidates must mention the cumulative % marks as per norms of their University while filling the application form. Preference shall be given to GATE qualified candidates.
Financial Assistance may be available only to GATE qualified Full Time candidates as per AICTE norms. The full time students shall not be permitted to take any job. The Institute reserves the right to cancel their admission immediately if a defaulter is noticed.
Full time sponsored candidates are required to complete the program in 4 semesters. They shall not be allowed to join back the sponsoring organization before the completion of this period.
ME Program in Part Time shall be conducted in the evening (6-9PM) and is offered to only working sponsored candidates.
In case, the candidate is changing the employment, it shall be the responsibility of the candidate to produce the sponsorship from the new employer.
