Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology admission for B.Tech course is available for various specializations. The course duration is 4 years. The Institute also offers a dual degree in B.Tech+M.Tech, for the course duration of 5 years. 

B.Tech Eligibility Criteria 

The candidates are eligible for the B.Tech course at IIST if they have completed senior secondary school with an average minimum of 75% marks (65% marks for SC/ ST/ PD candidates) from a recognized board or passed an examination holding equivalent value and must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, a language and a fifth subject, different from the above listed four subjects.

IIST M.Tech Admission 2024

M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

PhD Eligibility Criteria 

The candidates are eligible for the PhD courses at IIST if they have completed a Master’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology and must have secured 65% marks or 7.00 CGPA on a scale of 10 or equivalent in the Qualifying Master’s degree (60% marks or 6.50 CGPA on a scale of 10 for OBC/ EWS, 55% marks or 6.00 CGPA on a scale of 10 for SC/ ST/ PD). They must have pursued their Master’s degree based on a qualified GATE score. 

PhD Selection Process

The candidates selected in the course are based on the online screening test followed by an interview. The interview will be conducted through Video Conference mode. However, candidates with a valid CSIR/ NET-JRF or Lectureship post their ME/ M.Tech will be directly called for the interview through Video Conference mode. 

IIST Admission Process 2024

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram offers several courses at UG, PG, and PhD levels for fields of Science, Engineering, and Technology. Valid scores in the entrance examinations are required for IIST admission criteria. For the UG courses, the accepted entrance examination is JEE Advanced and GATE for PG courses.
