About Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, [IISER] Mohali:

Indian Institute of Sciences and Research (IISERs) were established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India based on the recommendation of the Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister. Initially, Five IISERs were created and they are functioning at Kolkata(2006), Pune (2006), Mohali(2007), Bhopal(2008) and Thiruvananthapuram(2008). Later two more IISER were added, One is established in Tirupati(2015) and other IISER family is in Berhampur.

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali envisions a new generation of scientists dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge in frontier areas of basic sciences. IISER Mohali nurtures the basic tenets of science education and research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
