Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Tirupati, is operated under a transit campus. The permanent campus is under construction which is 3 km away. The complex includes a library, hostel, canteen, etc. More information about the IISER Tirupati infrastructure are given below.
Hostel: IISER Tirupati hostel has a well-established hostel with basic amenities. The structure comprises four levels. There are 46 rooms on each floor (in total, 184). All the rooms are furnished (i.e., cot, mattress, study tables, chairs, pedestals, and almirahs). On each floor, there is running water and a washing machine. For bathing purposes, all restrooms have hot water connections. IISER Tirupati hostel facilities include a gym, a place for music practice and indoor activities, a study room, a TV hall, a wellness clinic, a modern kitchen, and a large dining hall. In addition to hostel managers, there are 24x7 security services for both girls and boys to look after the students.
Computer Centre: IISER Tirupati has a well-equipped computer lab at the campus. It has 80 computers with the latest configuration for students to access and explore.
Health Centre: The IISER Tirupati campus has a health centre for immediate medical attention. At night, a doctor is accessible at the health facility. Ms Nimmy K Prasad, a full-time nurse, oversees the centre. It provides first-aid management, OP advice, medication distribution, and routine check-ups. In an emergency, the institute also provides ambulance service.
Canteen: IISER Tirupati permanent campus offers canteen facilities to the students, offering systematic and hygenic food.
Gym: The college includes a well-equipped gym. Cardio and strength activities are available at the facility. There are treadmills and spin bikes in the cardio room. In addition, the gym also has dumbbells, barbells, plates, bars, bench-press, chest-press, leg-press, leg-extension, leg-curling, lat-pulley rowing, decline benches, and a lat pull-down machine.
Daycare: IISER Tirupati facilities include a daycare facility open to staff and students children. Guests visiting Ican also use the daycare services with advance notice. Children as young as six months old are welcome to attend daycare. The daycare centre is properly air-conditioned and furnished with infant mattresses, brightly coloured little chairs and tables, toys, books, and indoor play equipment. In addition, a tiny kitchenette with a fridge, microwave oven, and wash basin has been set up.
Library: IISER Tirupati library has a massive collection of textbooks, general books, and reference materials such as encyclopaedia, dictionaries, and laboratory manuals. The library uses the open-source Koha Integrated Library System for acquisition and circulation. In addition, it gives online access to many periodicals, full-text and bibliographic databases in the fundamental sciences and related subjects. The library also participates in the e-ShodhSindhu (Consortium for Higher Education Electronic Resources and the IISER Library Consortium).
