This has one of the best hostels in the country.... Even better than iitm and many other iits..... Food is good but non veg is very good
There are separate hostels available for men and women. Hostel fees are around INR 22,700 per year. Food is average. Quality of classrooms, libraries are good. WiFi is very good to say.
4 hostels are there on the campus. Hostels are really nice and equipped with LAN bcz all were made in the recent years. Food is fine. Per meal, it cost around INR 40. In terms of infrastructure, this college is really good and ahead of many in the country. So, classrooms, labs, library, dining hall are available which are really nice.
Hostel and Mess: The IIITD&M being a residential Institute provides accommodation to all students. Now Jasmine hostel is for girls and Lotus, Asoka, Banyan and a new 15 storied hostels are for boys. The rooms are built with scientific simulation for its ventilation and day light.
Library: The Library has an excellent collection of books, printed journals, magazines, leading newspapers, e-Journals., and softcopy of NPTEL course materials and video contents. The Library maintains a separate collection of reference books. The Library follows the Machine Readable Catalogue (MARC 21) standard for cataloguing and Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) scheme for classification of Library documents.
Institute is one of the core members of Indian National Digital Library in Engineering Sciences and Technology (INDEST) consortium and has subscribed nearly 600 e-journals, conference proceedings, standards, viz IEL (IEEE & IEE) and Elsevier Science Direct Links.
The shopping Center provides a variety of consumer goods and day-to-day requirements of the students like stationery, toiletries etc.In addition, Mattresses, Pillows, top up of Cell Phones etc can be procured.
The campus has an Indian Bank ATM and e-launch services. Indian Bank, Karur Vysya Bank and City Union Bank are available within 2km radius. Institute banks with Indian Bank, Nallambakkam, Chennai – 127. All students are advised to open a savings account with Indian Bank. To open an SB account in Indian Bank, the students would be required to submit Institute Admission letter and Two Passport size photo only. Bank representatives present at the campus will facilitate to open new account.
