HPU Infrastructure: Library, Hostel, Gym, Auditorium, Cafeteria & Other Facilities

Himachal Pradesh University, [HPU] Shimla, is spread over 200 acres. The university is acknowledged for its huge campus and residential facilities in India. Some of the highlighting features of the HPU infrastructure are given below.

Library: HPU library has a six-story building that can accommodate 450 readers in reading halls and about 100 research scholars in cubicles on different floors. It has a collection of over 2,19,852 books, 45 periodicals & journals, and more than 8000 e-journals.

Health Centre: Himachal Pradesh University campus offers healthcare facilities during the day and odd hours to students, teachers, employees, and their families, receive OPD level therapy. The number of patients seeking therapy has increased in recent years due to the best treatment being provided to them. Approximately 20000 individuals are treated in the health centre's outpatient section every year.

Hostel: HPU has fourteen hostels, four for boys and ten for girls. Approximately 1058 girls and 589 boys are housed at the hostel. All hostel admissions are made in order of merit. Mess, internet access through Wi-Fi and LAN, and a common room with LED TV, current periodicals, newspapers, and indoor activities are available. A dining hall is maintained. The hall is kept clean so that borders can enjoy their meals. Each Himachal Pradesh University hostel has a Warden and office personnel in charge of the hostel's seamless day-to-day operation. The Warden, in collaboration with various committees, maintains a disciplined, scholarly, and peaceful environment at the hostel. Furthermore, HPU hostel facilities include CCTV 24*7.
