Handique Girls’ College is a science and arts college affiliated with the University of Guwahati. It is one of the oldest colleges located in Assam. It was founded by Rajabala Das in 1939 as Guwahati Girls’ College and the name was later changed in honor of the late philanthropist who helped her found the college, Radha Kanta Handique. The college seeks to contribute towards the creation of a tolerable, equitable, enlightened, and humane society by empowering women with a holistic education.
