Haldia Government College was founded in 1988 in the vibrant city of Haldia, West Bengal. It is a State Government institution. The institute is affiliated with Vidyasagar University.

Haldia Government College offers 3 courses, namely, BSc, BA, MSc which aim at the holistic development of the students. Students can gain expertise in their chosen fields with a faculty of experienced and knowledgeable educators.

The institute campus is spread over an area of 19.44 acres. The hostel facilities are provided for both boys and girls on a single and twin-sharing basis.
