DAV College is a private aided college based in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. It was founded in 1918 by Pt. Mehar Chand. The college admits undergraduates, postgraduates and career-oriented programs under the purview of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. In the sciences, humanities, and commerce streams, the college provides a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In addition, the UGC Scheme offers seven career-oriented programs. The college has 22 departments with highly skilled staff.

• Despite rigorous academic agenda, there is always a time for music, poetry, dance, discussion, dialogue with self, and innocent relaxation. Thus, an attempt is always made to extract and polish the inherent abilities of students through various channels.
• The creative abilities are reflected through activities undertaken by various associations and departments of the college.
• Leadership abilities are exhibited through NSS, NCC, and activities of the Deptt. of Youth Welfare.
• The GK abilities are taken care of through declamation debate, quiz, discussion, theatre, etc.

• As many as 31 Subject Societies, Associations, and Clubs are active in the college.
• They organize lectures, declamation contests, exhibitions, poetical symposia, educational film shows, dramas, and tours for the benefit of the student's community.
• To meet an urgent need of the ever-increasing number of girl students in the college ever since it was declared co-educational, a new Girls Common Room - spacious, well-furnished, and equipped with ultra-modern facilities has been built adjacent to the Department of Economics.

DAV College provides all basic advanced facilities that meet the needs of the students. Some of these are mentioned below.

Hostels- There are five Hostels at the institution, three for boys and two for girls. Geysers, water coolers, 24-hour power backup, well-maintained washrooms, RO filtered drinking water, and other modern amenities make the hostels ideal for a healthy stay.

Library- Approximately 2 lakhs of text and reference books on diverse subjects are housed in the Library. There are numerous CDs, DVDs, and multimedia aids available.

Cafeteria- The college has 3 large cafeterias located throughout the campus. Students, hostellers, instructors, and running staff all have access to the cafeteria, where they can get refreshments and eatables.

Sports Complex - In a variety of areas, the Physical Education Department is making steady development. This section is, in fact, the cradle of internationally renowned athletes. Hockey, Cricket, Fencing, Football, Handball, Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Kabbadi, Volleyball, Tennis, and other sports have produced world-class athletes.

Health Hopeline- The College Health Centre is fully equipped for providing first aid to emergent cases under the charge of a qualified Medical Officer. It regularly engages itself in creating general awareness regarding health and hygiene among students and staff of the college with the help of visiting doctors from various specialities. The following steps have been taken to empower the Health Care Centre of the college.

• Appointment of a regular dietician to clinically assess and thoroughly check the nutritional quality of meals served in the hostel mess.
• Tapping of reference service through a panel of specialists in various city hospitals in emergent cases.
• Providing round-the-clock service in emergent cases.
