The College of Technology and Engineering, Udaipur (CTAE) is a constituent college of the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur. The college was started in 1964 with a Graduate Programme in Agricultural Engineering. Presently the CTAE has undergraduate degree programmes in 7 branches, M.Tech. programmes in 10 disciplines, besides PhD programmes in 10 disciplines.

The college has been recognized as Outstanding Engineering College in Northern Region and has been awarded “Outstanding Institution Award” in 2013 by National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh (a Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India, Institute). A project funded by Ministry of Human Resources Development through World Bank on “Technical Education Quality Improvement Project (TEQIP-II)” worth INR 10.0 crore is also functional in this college with the objectives of strengthening laboratories, developing smart-class rooms, enriching college library by procuring, books, e-books and subscribing to journals and undertaking several activities to increase the quality of teaching

The CTAE Udaipur college is catering to the needs of students in respect of their placement by inviting companies, MNCs/ Corporate and arranging on-campus recruitments for them and also acquainting them about the emerging job trends globally. The bureau provides all technical facilities for presentations, written test, online test, group discussion and interviews to the recruiters.

This cell also coordinates various other activities related to personality development aspects like arranging technical talk of eminent managers from corporate and eminent professors from reputed institutes, arranging student-debates on current issues, presentations by students themselves on the subject of their interest.

The CTAE students have to undergo practical/field training in the summer break of the II & III years of their studies. The training is arranged and monitored by the in-charges of respective disciplines. However in the Agricultural Engineering discipline in addition to this practical training, experiential learning is intended to build practical skills and entrepreneurship among the graduates with the aim to deal with work situations and for better employability and self-employment. It will involve setting up model plans for food processing and value addition for product diversification, setting up of workshops for manufacturing, operation, and maintenance of farm machinery and equipment, maintenance and custom hiring of farm machinery and equipment.
