About BMS College for Women, [BMSCW] Bangalore
BMS College for Women was established in 1964 by Dharma Prakasha Rajakarya Prasaktha Late B. M. Srinivasaiah, doyen of higher education and his son late. B. S. Narayan, a great visionary to provide women with a fair share of opportunities.
Located in the verdant green environs of Basavanagudi, the college is an impressive campus next to the Bugle Rock Park. The campus has been established on a comprehensive long term master plan and is self sustaining. Started with 34 students at the Pre University level the College emerged as one of the few higher education institutions accredited with ‘A’ grade in 2004 & 2009. Affiliated to Bangalore University, the college offers Under Graduate Courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Computer Application, and Post Graduate Course in M.Com. Thirty five spacious lecture halls each with a seating capacity of 120 students, practical labs equipped for research, two life science museums, an open air auditorium, sports and recreation centre, administrative block, acoustically modeled seminar hall, library and information centre in the campus exemplify an ideal atmosphere for an effective teaching- learning research process with student-centered approach. Highly qualified faculty provides a strong academic background to the students. Several University ranks and the present strength of over 3000 students define the growth of the college.
