Assam Textile Institute was established in 1920 by Late Rai Bahadur Kanaklal Baruah. The Institute is one of the leading colleges for textile education in North-Eastern India. The college was founded when no textile college existed in the country. ATI has contributed a lot in social as well as the economic development of the Guwahati region. ATI offers courses in Textile Technology, Garment Technology and Fashion Technology to the pupils. The Institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE]
