Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi, is only 2 kilometres from the Karaikudi railway station. The complex covers an area of more than 200 acres. Spacious classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, seminar halls, an indoor game hall, and a campus-wide Wifi connection undoubtedly stimulate pupils to learn. In addition, green covers have been maintained on two-thirds of the site as part of the college's commitment to environmental sustainability.

It offers the students all the basic facilities. Some of them are mentioned below.

• Auditorium- The college auditorium (Dewan Bahadur Murugappa Hall) holds roughly 600 people. It contains a large stage where graduations, cultural events, and other college events are held. It also has a spacious setting for conducting cultural programs and entertainment.
• Library- The carpet area of the central library at the college is 1075 square meters. It has two stack rooms for general book collections, one for the SC/ST book bank area and one for the reference part. There are 30 computers in the digital hall. The library holds a total of 62291 hardbound volumes and 2323 electronic books. Faculty and students can access E-journals regularly.
• Hostels- The college has separate hostels for boys and girls, having spacious rooms and state-of-the-art facilities.
• Sports Facilities- Outdoor and indoor sports such as cricket, hockey, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, and chess are available at the college. A 400m track and the essential equipment for jumps, throws, powerlifting, and bodybuilding are available to athletes. Tennis club membership is open to all college personnel and students. There is also an indoor stadium and a gymnasium.
• Canteen- The canteen is located near the Civil Engineering Department and is open on all working days. Tea, coffee, and other liquid drinks, as well as delectable South Indian delicacies and snacks, are available 24 hours a day. At hostels, there are two different messes, one for boys and the other for girls.
• Medical Facilities- A doctor and a nurse are on duty twenty-four hours a day at the dispensary. There is also a pharmacy that provides free medications and antidotes to ill students and staff at the infirmary.
