About Akal University, [AU] Bathinda:
Akal University, [AU] Bathinda was established under Punjab Government Act Number 25 of 2015 and its aim is to spread the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib among the entire world. The university has implemented the goal-oriented curriculum with a Choice-based Credit System, special coaching classes for UGC-NET, IAS and some market-oriented skill development classes. The university has adopted the English language as a medium to impart teaching and a keen emphasis is given on the improvement of communication skills of the students too.
To make education affordable and accessible to each and every student, the Kalgidhar Society provides scholarships to the students on the basis of merit and the financial status. The college infrastructure includes a full-fledged WiFi equipped system, CCTV security system, vegetarian mess, state of the art labs and more. The university condemns the practice of ragging and ensures proper security to prevent it.
The university also has National Service Scheme [NSS] programme to encourage students to take part in ensuring the well-being of the society and to provide a helping hand whenever the society needs one. The university has a Research Promotion Cell [RPC] which is focussed on giving opportunities to the students and the teaching faculties to inculcate research activities in the curriculum. The RPC also organizes many seminars, workshops and guest lectures regarding the relevant topic of the research.
