Parul University’s Vadodara Fashion Week Season 3 dazzled with sustainable student collections, bold concepts, and a star appearance by Arjun Kapoor as showstopper, celebrating fashion, tradition, and innovation.
Under the spotlight of glamour and sustainability, the much-awaited Vadodara Fashion Week 3.0 unfolded with grandeur and purpose. Organized by Parul Institute of Design and held at Parul University, the event was a breathtaking celebration of creativity, sustainability, and innovation, showcasing the exceptional talents of final-year fashion design students. The event, graced by Bollywood star Arjun Kapoor as the celebrity guest, brought an unparalleled blend of glamour and purpose to the runway. Focused on sustainable fashion, the graduating students of Parul Institute of Design (PID) presented collections that embraced practices like upcycling, zero fabric wastage, and ethical design. Their work beautifully merged India’s rich textile heritage with cutting-edge concepts, redefining the future of fashion with a global outlook.
Each collection told a unique story, reflecting the individuality and dedication of the designers. Arc Deco by Ayushi & Aditi paid homage to Zaha Hadid’s architectural brilliance, blending fluid lines with structured forms to create a harmonious balance of strength and grace. Banaras by Anushka & Ankita celebrated the vibrant craftsmanship of Banaras, offering a bridesmaid collection that radiated spiritual elegance and contemporary charm. Bohemian Bazaar by Nandini & Vidhushi infused the free-spirited aesthetics of the Banjara tribe into vibrant, eclectic designs that honored India’s cultural richness.
Other standout collections included Jalaj by Priya, Hunayna, Unnati, Deepika & Hema, a tribute to the lotus flower symbolizing resilience and spiritual enlightenment, and Moon Child by Semester 4th Fashion Design Students, capturing the celestial essence of the moon and the whimsical imagination power of childhood. THE FOUR ROOTS by Akansha and Naiya explored the elemental beauty of fire, earth, air, and water, while Phantom Reef by Hitiksha & Darshith channeled the enigmatic strength of the deep sea into avant-garde fashion.
Adding depth to the event was the Sarees of India initiative, where university staff members were draped in beautiful sarees, celebrating the diversity and craftsmanship of this iconic Indian garment. Garbhadharan by Sharon & Anjanah boldly reimagined the journey of motherhood, using unconventional silhouettes to explore conception, gestation, and lactation through a conceptual lens. Adding a heartfelt dimension to the runway, the event embraced the spirit of inclusivity by providing a special platform for children of our dedicated support staff to step onto the stage and showcase their charm and confidence. This initiative taken by the university beautifully reflected its dedication to empowering every member of its community and fostering a sense of belonging through thoughtful opportunities.
