UCEED Qualifying Examination
The qualifying criteria for the UCEED exam is stated below.
- The eligibility for UCEED exam demands that you must have passed all subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2024 or 2025 OR must take the qualifying examination for the first time in 2024.
- If you have a degree in multiple academic disciplines, including science, business, and the humanities, you may apply.
- Those who took your qualifying test (Class XII) for the first time in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible.
- Foreign nationals, with Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) or People of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are considered to fall under the Open category and would not receive special treatment. The requirements above "absolutely" apply to all of you, including foreign nationals. There are excess seats designated for foreign nationals.
UCEED Exam Exceptions
- If you have passed your 10+2 in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects then you are eligible to all the 7 participating colleges, namely IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur.
- If you have passed your 10+2 in any other subject/ Science without Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities, then you are eligible only for IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.
List of Qualifying Exams for UCEED
The list of qualifying exams that are accepted under UCEED eligibility are different for Indian and Foreign nationals. They are listed below for your reference.
For Indian Nationals
The list of qualifying exams for Indian nationals are as follows.
- 10+2 system recognized by the Central/ State Board/ by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
- Final examination of the 2-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy
- Senior Secondary School Examination organized by the NIOS with a minimum of 5 subjects
- Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination organized by a recognized Board or University by the AIU
- H.S.C. vocational examination
- A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education of at least 3 years duration
For Foreign Nationals
The list of qualifying exams for Foreign nationals are as follows.
- Any Public School, Board, or University examination in India or a foreign country is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge, or Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) Level
- High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva
