Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has launched a new e-learning platform SCEL (Special Centre for E-Learning) in which various range of courses will be provided online to students. It is a huge step towards online education.
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will be providing online courses to those candidates who did not get admissions in JNU due to its highly competitive entrance examination and also to those candidates who cannot afford to join the university.
According to sources from the board, JNU faculty is working hard to take part in the UGC’s Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) which is offered by SWAYAM platform. The newly formed SCEL platform has received good response from the varsity's Executive Council (EC) meeting which took place on November 23rd.
Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, M Jagadish Kumar said that the universities should not only remain as ivory towers but should reach out to the nation. The main goal of launching this new platform is to make high-quality education more inclusive through space and independent learning.
