IMI Kolkata Selection Procedure
Once the shortlisting is done, IMI Kolkata invites the shortlisted students for the WAT-PI (Written Ability Test and Personal Interview) process. About the written ability test: The written ability test is conducted to evaluate the writing capability of the candidates. The institute evaluates their technical (spelling and grammar) and articulation skills.
Personal Interview Round
Once the written ability test is through, the candidates need to pass a personal interview of around 15 minutes. The purpose behind conducting such an interview is to understand the applicant’s perspective on management education and his/her attitude towards it. Candidates having work experience are evaluated based on their relevance with regard to the PGDM program.
Final Selection Round
The final selection of candidates is based on their GMAT/XAT/CAT score (overall percentile), work experience, academic profile, verbal ability percentile, personal interview score, and written ability test score.
Company Sponsored Candidates
Company-sponsored candidates are welcome at IMI Kolkata within the approved number of seats available in the program. All these candidates are selected based on the same process as detailed above. Please note, company-sponsored candidates are not eligible for placement assistance through the placement cell of the institute. Their fee structure is also separate from that of the general candidates.
