Jain University

Jain University was established as Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College in 1990 by Dr. Chenraj Roychand. It is a deemed private university affiliated with NAAC, AICTE, NBA, UGC and AGU. Jain University is promoted by the Jain University Trust managed by the JGI Group with its headquarters in Bangalore.Jain University has established 10 Centers of Excellence (CoEs) – Centre for Nano and Material Sciences; International Institute for Aerospace Engineering and Management; Centre for Emerging Technologies; Centre for Disaster Mitigation; Centre for Research in Social Sciences and Education; Centre for Ancient History & Culture; Centre for Indian Psychology; Centre for Advanced Studies in Biosciences, Center for Post Graduate Studies and Centre for Pure & Applied Sciences.

Eligibility Criteria for Jain University

Jain University has following departments:

Commerce

  • Candidates are eligible to apply for B.Com (regular), B.Com (honours) and B.Com (professional) if they have passed 10+2 examinations from PUC/ISC/CBSE or equivalent board.
  • The course that the candidate has studied in 10+2 should be recognized by Jain University.
  • Candidates are eligible to apply for Master of Commerce with electives/ specializations if they have a bachelor's degree in any relevant subject from a recognized university.

Engineering

  • Candidates can apply for B.Tech should have passed in PUC / 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics as one of the subjects and obtained at least 60% marks in the above subjects taken together.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST can apply for B.Tech should have passed in PUC / 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics as one of the subjects and obtained at least 55% marks in the above subjects taken together.

Humanities and Social Sciences, Managment

  • The minimum qualification required to apply is a pass in the 10+2 examination in Science/ Commerce/ Arts from PUC / ISC / CBSE or equivalent board.

Sciences

  • Candidates are eligible to apply if they have passed in the 10+2 examination in Science or Commerce from PUC / ISC / CBSE or equivalent board. A course recognized as equivalent thereto by the University.

Admission Procedure for Jain University

  • The information on how to procure admissions is available 
  • After the application of the candidate has been reviewed, the Admission Office will conduct the Jain Entrance Test according to the schedule.
  • The entrance test is then followed by a Group Discussion round.
  • The shortlisted candidates are further interviewed by the admission committee.
  • The admission committee then re-evaluates personal details, presentation and performance of the candidates.

 Cut-offs

  • For B.Tech the candidates should have passed in PUC / 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects along with Chemistry / Computer Science / Electronics as one of the subjects. The cut-off is 60% in aggregate.
  • The cut off for B.Tech candidates belonging to SC/ST category is 55%

 Hostel Details

 Hostel Details

  • Jain University offers hostel facility inside as well as outside the college campus. There are separate hostels for boys and girls.
  • The Hostel Management Division is responsible for maintaining the discipline of the hostels and for providing the hostelers with all their needs.
  • The residential halls contain bedrooms along with bathrooms. The rooms have adequate space, lighting and ventilation. The rooms have a bed, cupboard, table and chairs pre-installed for the students. The housekeeping staff is responsible for the regular cleanliness of the rooms at a fixed time.
  • The food provided by hostel is inclusive of four meals including breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. The food is known for it's quality and variety. The hostels are well guarded by the security staff on duty throughout day and night. List of hotline numbers are available in the hostel and are to be contacted in times of emergency.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY:

The daily routine during college is the first hour starts at 8:30 am and will go on till 1:30 pm, there are five hours of class in the day. There is an exam which is taken after every 2 modules of the subjects is completed and it is marked in internal exams. There is a final assignment which is given at the end when all the modules are completed this also is counted in the internal. 

During most of the course, the teaching is done in PPTs which are prepared by the subject teacher and are sent to students to study, there are no text books which are given to students. The teachers are friendly and always available to help and counsel students. The syllabus teaches the students a wide variety of what goes on in media and communication field.

 

CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS:

The college is affiliated with Toastmaster club and has an in house training club. There is also a theater club which finds and nurtures talents. 

There different festivals in college where students can participate like melange, precipice and most of these festivals held are multicultural and other colleges in Bangalore are also invited to participate. 

There is a lot of small clubs which is initiated by the students and anyone can join it if they like.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY:

The class timings are really nice, 9am to 1pm.

And yes, the faculty, they're amazing. Most of them are M.Phil or Ph.D holders and well experienced too. 

Their attitude towards the students are really good, they are supportive to bits.

Extra-curriculur and academis are treated equally.

CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS:

Jain University is one among the top deemed private university in India which provides the best infrastructure and facilities. 

The University is also a hub of cultural events. 

Altogether, college life at Jain University is awesome.

  • The faculties at Jain University are really amazing.
  • They are supportive and interactive towards the students.

  • Class timings are very relaxing and not too tiring Teachers are just pass outs so they don't have an experience in teaching The teachers are not so good.

  • There are no clubs as such, There are sports events in which only boys can participate.
  • Jain College is very boring and nothing really seems to happen every day.
