Placements and Internships

4

I have done three internships in total till date. Two of them were unpaid and I got paid 3000 bucks for one of the internships. All of them were related to content writing and blogging.

The placemnts are pretty good. Most of the students get placed in media organizations.

The average salary is actually a bit low. 30k would be the average salary. Almost 90 percent of the batch gets placed each year. But make sure you build a good enough resume by the end of your degree because it would help a lot as this field demands more of work experience than better grades in college.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are 22 hostels in total.

The a lot of places to live in Manipal. If you choose to not stay in hostels then you can get PGs and Apartments for cheap rates. And most of the students choose to move out after the first year.

The food in college is pretty bad. It's just that they don't change the routine and for sure you'll get bored eating here after a month or so.

Free wifi available but only for engineering students. As it's included in their fees.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

It's one of the top ten colleges which offer a degree in media and communication. They conduct an entrance exam is actually not that difficult to clear. I wrote the exam back in 2017 when the entrance exam was for 100 marks and the seats were given to students according to their respective ranks. They offer only 120 seats a year but if you manage to secure a rank of anything below 250 then you would most probably get a seat.

Academics and Faculty

4

The class timings are 9 am- 5 pm. The projects and assignments are given on a monthly basis to the students, and students are graded based on that.

The quality of teaching is pretty good. The teaching faculty is quite experienced.

There are a few practical subjects too so you'll get a pretty good grip on a few of Adobe-based softwares too.

It is a great place to be in if you are passionate enough.

Fees and Scholarships

4

School of Communication, [SOC] Manipal Fee Structure. The course fee is 1 lakh and 56 thousand per year. Scholarship options are available to the students. They can avail for scholarships if they manage to secure good grades in the entrance exams.
