Art students usually don't get placements. But we were provided with ample contacts in case we wanted to get internships in the likes of INTACH. The placement for courses other than Humanities is strong with good pay packages. The alumni network is strong in JMC.
No hostels are provided. Outstation students take PGs in Saya Niketan which is 10 minutes away from the campus. The rent differs according to the amenities and space provided. The least beginning from Rs. 6000. Few PGs do provide meals and wifi (charged separately). The college has a decent canteen with fairly priced food. A plate of cholesterol bhatures come at Rs.30. Wi-Fi is available in the campus throughout the day. The library is huge (3 floored LIBRARY) with a vast selection of books related to all course and a good stock of fictional books as well. The classrooms are airy and natural light is available in most of the classes.
The first cut-offs came at 96% for History Honors. It trickled down to 92% - 90%. There is no entrance exam for admission.
The classes begin at 8:30 am in the morning and the last class is from 2:45 pm to 3:45 pm. Your timing may vary according to your course and timetables change every semester. We are provided with a platform to present our papers in a bid to inculcate professionalism. Assignments, tests and your attendance determine how much you will score in your internals of 25 marks. The professors are efficient, give us ample tutorial classes to clear doubts and open our minds to things beyond formal education and classrooms. The quality of the education given is excellent. The overall college has been a wonderful experience until now.
The fee is INR 12000-15000 per semester. Scholarships are available for students who perform well academically or in sports. Loans are not required.
All extra-curricular talents are duly cultivated by the strong student's societies ranging from debate to theater to quiz and dance and sports and environment. The faculty gives adequate support to students in these societies and encourage others to join too. Kehkasha, Troubadour, Mudra, Nrityanjali are few societies that earned major accolades in the past few years. The college has its annual fest in the winters and department and society fests happen throughout the year with much fanfare.

Academics & Faculty : The History Department is very active in every aspect of college life. Its very punctual in terms of assignments and very disciplined about attendance. History as a course provides us an opportunity to look into our past and analyse its importance. The professors are dedicated to teach the different aspect of human existence and its implications in the future. The professors are keen in providing us with additional knowledge other than the prescribed course, making us aware about the important affairs happening in the world. They even make sure that every student in the class participates in the class discussion and present their personal view on topics, encouraging a healthy relationship between the professor and the students.
