Rahul Bodh's Review on Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, [IISER] Bhopal

IISER BHOPAL is a research institute, so basically, most of the students go to the research side and do a Ph.D. after completing their BS-MS degree. But in 2017 IISERB started 2 new departments i.e., chemical engineering and electrical and cs engineering, by which many students can get placement chances after the degree. Currently, the placement is developing and good but it can improve and it is.

Infrastructure is still under construction because it is a new institute but everything which a student needs is available. WiFi connectivity is very good giving at an average of 8MB/s speed. Food in mess is average and cost of a hostel is very low. Key infrastructure is really well maintained and smartly developed.

Basically, it takes admission through 3 streams: 1. KVPY- Students securing KVPY ranks are allotted a seat in IISER as per their rank. 2. JEE ADVANCED- Students securing a rank within 10,000 in any category are eligible for admission in IISER. 3. SCB- It's an exam conducted by IISER to take admission in different IISERs, it's also based on the rank you secure, for the eligibility of admission.

Fees are very low of IISER compared to other government institutions. ₹45,000 nearly of a semester and ₹5000 stipend for some students on a inspire scholarship.

Students are mostly from a highly educated background and well behaved and society is also nice. On a big scale, there are 3 main cultural events held at IISERB and they are quite big. College Life here at IISER is quite busy but not boring.
