Placements and Internships

4

  • Internship opportunities are aplenty with offers available from Texas Instruments, Microsoft, Intel, General Electric etc. Students interning in these companies are generally rewarded with a full-time job offer at the end of their internship.
  • Some of the major recruitment firms include Hyundai, Wipro, Deloitte, Amazon, HP, Standard Chartered, etc.
  • Average salary figures are about 5 Lakhs(INR) with the highest being 28 LPA offered by Amazon.
  • Out of the eligible candidates, the placement percentage stands at about 85-90%.
  • The VIT Alumni Association fosters a strong bond between the current batch of students, ex-students and the faculties alike.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

  • 3 hostels are available offering accommodation to about 4000 students with separate hostels for girls.
  • Based on the requirement of the student the annual hostel fee ranges from Rs60,000-1,00,000(INR).
  • PGs are available in close vicinity in Kandigai.
  • The food quality in the mess is average but it's definitely better than what's offered in other institutes.
  • The library is well-stocked with books from all fields.
  • The labs are provided with up-to-date equipment and provide students and faculties with good research opportunities.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The eligibility criteria for a bachelor degree in any of the engineering fields requires the student to have a minimum of 60% in PCM their 10+2 examinations.
  • Admissions to the university are based on the performance of the candidate in the VITEEE examination conducted in the month of April.
  • Seats are offered based on the student's rank in the VITEEE.
  • Generally, a rank of 30000 or less in the VITEEE is enough to secure a seat in any of the streams.

Academics and Faculty

4.5

  • VIT offers a Fully Flexible Credit System allowing students to choose their own timetable.
  • Students are expected to work regularly on the assignments and projects handed to them.
  • The teachers are technically sound in their field. The teaching methods are generally interactive and student friendly.
  • Overall I would say the opportunities and facilities are there for the taking and it stands true to its motto of A place to learn, A chance to grow.

Fees and Scholarships

3.5

  • The course fee is about Rs 1.8 lakhs/year(INR).
  • Scholarships are awarded to top rankers in the VITEEE. Few scholarships are also available to students from the financially weak sector.
  • Scholarship opportunities are limited.
  • Loans are generally not required as the total fees are not so high. But banks like Indian Bank and KVB offer student loan opportunities if needed.

Clubs and Associations

4

  • There are about 48 different clubs available to students in various domains ranging from Dance, Music, Technological and Social work.
  • The 2 main fests organized in the college are TechnoVIT (Technological)  and vibrancy (Cultural)
  •  Overall I can say that college life is fun and engaging with a lot of opportunities to grow.
